Instead of wood tooth picks I used dry spaghetti noodles. They cooked in the chicken and you never know they are there.

This sounds like a great idea and I would love to try it... but do the dry spaghetti noodles break at all? I had a hard time just pushing toothpicks through. But you're right it's a pain to get toothpicks out.

I must have missed the part where you took or removed the plastic wrap from the chicken after it was in Fridge for 30 mins. Did your have to unroll the chicken to remove the plastic wrap? And re-roll it to place the tooth picks in?

Once the chicken is stiff after refrigerated, you do not need to re-roll it again. The plastic wrap comes off easily 👏

I would disagree with that generalised statement, but you are not meant to wrap the plastic within the chicken roll.

This may sound like a dumb question but if you roll up the chicken with the plastic how do you get the plastic off without unrolling the chicken?

Maria Gomez Rivera You wrap it around the chicken, kinda like when they make sushi rolls the plastic is around the outside of the chicken not wrapped up in it. You simply just unroll it and you’re good to go. Placing it in the fridge firms it up so it helps it keep its shape for the flour eggs and breadcrumbs. Hope that helps. 😁

A shallot is just a petite onion, sweet in flavour and can be a little spicy at times. less watery than your normal onion and more mild. They're great for sauces, dips, salads, chutney, pasta dishes and pickling. Shallots are definitely more milder than the normal onion. The only way to see is to cook with them yourself. I just made this exact recipe last night for my bf and it turned out just like the video! on the side, I had grilled brussel sprouts and mixed some of the parsely sauce into a penne pasta. YUM! Thanks for sharing your version steven, happy holidays!

how do you get the plastic wrap out after you wrap it the second time? Do you just unravel it and roll it back up? The tight wrap is what I'm looking for.

You don’t roll the plastic into it, just around it. Then, of course, it comes right off.

Just untie the plastic wrap off from both sides. The wrap is not wrapped inside the chicken even though it might look that way. Its wrapped tight on the outside of the chicken. :)

You stole my sauce bro!!! But otherwise a great recipe. I never thought about the oven finish. I always screwed this up over-frying to get the chicken cooked or it was an ordeal cutting the chicken sufficiently thin (FYI, use semi-frozen breasts and you can cut way, way thinner). That said, if you can get super- thin cut chicken from Korean or Japanese grocery stores, then you can do fry-only style mini version that is fantastic. Also, there are these "Panko" bread crumbs that are really nice for frying. They are the only store-bought ones I will buy these days. Great video!

A Skillful and Amazing Dish, but then all your dishes are. I did miss you actually showing removing the plastic wrap from the chicken after wrapping and refrigerating. But eventually noticed you had removed it and added the tooth picks. Really an Amazingly executed dish and that cheese oozing out just sent that dish over the top watching the chicken as you cut it. Excellent.

I would seal them in the pan first, then pop them in the oven when your guests arrive. :) 20 mins (350f) cooking or internal temperature 165

And its a much less cruelty too. Too many animals esp chicken and duck go through unbelievable pain, cruelty and suffocation for this dish. Glad the you came up with a much much better version

That's some great cooking, and looks easy, but I like to be slightly picky. It's Bleu not Blue #Pronunciation ;) and you need to use a spoon more often to taste, I know you're not cooking for people but I just think it looks more professional. I don't even use my fingers to taste when I cook for myself, otherwise great video and thanks for the tips. #JustPicky

I make this all the time (not this recipe). I brown the chicken then "finish cooking in the sauce in a covered skillet.. I also add Tarragon to my sauce.

to make it a fitness recepie just dont fry it, only rest it on the pan without oil and breadcrums. and use light cheese. and there you have it..light version of Cordon Bleui

I made this the other night and it was yummy however I would now like to make this in advance for a dinner party. Can you pre fry the chicken before hand and once guests arrive pop in the oven or could I even miss the frying stage and put directly into the oven, If so how long would this need to then cook for?

There's something I don't get. You wrap it with plastic wrap to the point where the plastic wrap is wrapped into the chicken and ham and cheese part. How'd you remove the plastic from inside the rolled chicken before you dipped it in the flour and egg wash and the bread crumbs?

I have literally made hundreds of these in my 30 years of cooking, but I’ve got to tell you, I have NEVER seen a more beautiful Bleu in my life. Bravo Chef, really gorgeous. 👏👏👏👏👏 If memory serves Chicken Cordon Bleu translation is “Blue Ribbon Chicken.” 😁

Shallots, when cooked very well, melt. Normal onions do not. And whole shallots stewed burst in your mouth. So delicious...

Wow looks elegantly delicious! I will try this one of these days and let you know. Will keep you posted. We don't eat ham (or beef) so need to think of something else, any suggestions? Also could you please make an easy version of Schnitzel, I mean your version. Have you made burrito as yet? If not could you please make chicken burrito! Please! It would help to an international audience if you also suggest substitutes as you cook. Few ingredients are not always available everywhere. Thx in advance :)

Hi Steve.. Great dish! I was wondering if I could put the parsley inside the chicken and just skip the sauce? What other herbs would you recommend? And last question, would cheddar cheese work too? Thank you :)

Yeah you can skip the sauce if you wish. Fresh tarragon, oregano & thyme would all work well and cheddar would work. :) thanks

This was terrific with the sauce! I made this tonight and not a bite was left. Even the kids cleaned off their plates. Thank you so much for this great recipe. I had to use Muenster cheese slices and Turkey Bacon though because that's what I had in the house.
