It's not that it's a crime, it's just that.... 1. He's 21...that's really young for a long committed relationship for a guy, maybe not for most girls as they do tend to mature faster. 2. He's a student...so his ass is broke. 3. They've been dating for 4 years....he was 17 when they started, so it's still puppy love. 4. He's a young man yet to experience the world...so all he really knows is her, wait until he meets women better than her (believe me, it's coming if it hasn't already...that's a fact of being a guy, period). So as men having been there in this young man's shoes and knowing exactly what he's feeling and thinking at his age, we know full well this guy ain't ready yet. Dad sees and senses it or else he would be shaking the young man's hand and welcoming him to the family instead of shopping his daughter around. Think about it...4 years together and no mention of marriage or any real commitment? All she said was "things are going great". She didn't say "I love him and want to marry him someday". On top of that, she actually finds her dads antics funny. If she was serious about the guy she's with, she would be more concerned and not laughing at what her dad does to get her a new man. If she loved her man, she'd feel like her dad was disrespecting her and her man by trying to find her a new man. So chances are they are just together because they are familiar with each other since they've been with each other since they were in high school. So in that sense, sure the relationship will feel great to her, but everyone but her and the boyfriend know that it's a high probability that both of them can do better.

I don't understand the whole concept on this whole "looking around" I mean they are dating for 4 years and don't seem in a rush to get married but if SHE'S happy and comfortable with him and SHE can see a future with him regardless of their age then that shouldn't matter.. people need to stop thinking that because they are young that people are incapable of settling down.. it happens all the time and it works for some people and for some it doesn't.. just like some people wait a whole to settle down and it works for them and for some it doesn't.. The reason people say wait is because most of the time when you are young, you make uniformed decisions that lead to mistakes and hardships that could have easily been prevented had you just took your time dating. It's why people say your 20's should be the years you travel, meet as many people as you can and learn everything there is to learn. By 30 you'll have enough experience and wisdom to know exactly who you are and what you really need in your life (instead of what you want or desire) and you'll typically have a better chance at finding the right person for the long haul. Now the reason people who wait still end up failing is because not everyone who waits actually spent that time learning anything about themselves or the world. Nobody is saying that if you wait then you are guaranteed to find the right partner. It's that if you wait and you have the capacity to learn from your experiences you have through the years, then you have a much greater chance to seek and find the right mate that you NEED, not the mate you desire or want. See that's a huge thing that takes majority of us to learn. That there is a difference between getting the relationship you want and getting the one you need. The one you want often just temporarily soothes your immediate desires that tend to be materialistic or superficial in nature. While the one you need typically makes you mature into a better human being that anyone would love to be married to forever.

MagicLM​ Yes I understand exactly what you're saying but I know a lot of young people who have been through a lot and have a lot of experiences and some older people that haven't experience much at all.. So as much as that's true.. Not everyone wants to wait until they are quite 30 years of age to try and settle down in hopes of finding someone and having children.. Especially since 30 thats when the clock starts ticking for you to have kids.. I'm just saying not everyone is built the same at all.. That's like saying every single person in their 20's doesn't know what they want and every single person in their 30's does know what they want which is false.. I've seen older people struggle to settle down and I've seen younger people go on their 10 year anniversary with the person they settle down with.. Just because you're young doesn't mean you have no idea what you want.. Yes some of them don't know what they want and there are the mature and experienced people that do.. It's really all about your mindset and maturity in my opinion! Because a lot of young people do know what they want and need but because they are young people just dismiss them and to me it's just silly!! And also she's pass the age of 18 which means she's old enough to make her own decisions her father and Steve are pushy.. Like let this woman live her own life please! It's not his place to try to break up a relationship if he doesn't like it.. That just drives people away from you not closer.. If he feels he's not right for her then let her figure that out on her own and learn her own lessons

My cousin, who is now 40, got married at 21. Her boyfriend was also 21 when they got married. Her father didn't like this boy and he had to really prove himself to her parents. And then they got married. Her parents were still trying to tell them what to do, took their money and told them they will help them get jobs in their village. But this guy had enough, told his wife she has to choose between him or her parents. She chose him, they left to the city he was from, have 2 beautiful children, a home and a beautiful relationship. They're all getting along really well. Most of my other cousins are not happy in their relationships, some divorced. I don't think this is always about parents always knowing better and you having to listen to them. Sometimes it's about control, and your parents wanting to keep you close because they're afraid to let you go live.

Unfortunately sometimes the kids suffer. I just recently started a relationship with my estranged dad within the last 10yrs I'm 40yrs old and I can tell you he is just a every blue moon aquaintance. He doesn't seem to put in much if any effort to get to know me. I have went out of my way to put in tremendous effort and I get nothing. I have introduced my children to him and in 1hr my children got more love and attention from him than he ever showed me in my lifetime. We as the throw a way children will be ok. you must not be in school full time. I pulled that off for half a semester (working 3 part time jobs plus school full time) and my grades and body felt it. Nothing is worth working that hard in a first world country. I can guarantee you are taking years off of your life. that said, all through out school I worked a part time job. 20 hours on the weekends. I only picked up the last 2 jobs in my last semester because they pertained to my career (I'm currently an animator)
