Stevie - I know there has been a fair bit of criticism here on song choice, but if nothing else, I think the comments prove you have a massive fan base. The frustration lies in the fact that the BBC/producers have done you a bit of an injustice with some of the song choices. We all just want your raw talents to be showcased in a way that does them justice. Your blind audition, your own material, your covers of Paulo, Adele, Miley - all fantastic -and all down to you and your creativity. That's the artist you are - not the commercial, vanilla clone the BBC are doing their best to create. Win or lose come next week, remember that the huge international following you now have is due to what you have done. Good luck - you deserve a world wide stage. Stevie McCrorie unplugged - now there's something I'd pay good money to go see :)

I'm going to go against the grain and say I loved this song choice. My problem with it is the backing singers which obscured what could have been an amazing contrast between his innate grit and the cleanliness of the original.

Dixavd I agree, I liked it too. A different interpretation that took it from a woman's personal statement of pain, to a bad boy declaration. ("I don't care what they say, I'm in love with you.") You make a good point about the background vocals. His voice doesn't need that kind of support.

And here comes Stevie McCrorie to rescue this week's show! Absolutely astonishing how he can pull this off in just over one minute. I have body chills! It helps that this is one of my favourite songs, and Stevie is currently my favourite singer. Seriously people, if you love this then support Stevie by spending a few pence on iTunes on one of his original songs. Spread the love. Technically Stevie makes very intelligent use of the head voice, but has such a strong chest voice that you always know he is able to deliver that big knock-out emotive wallop! I looked over at my wife on the sofa, and she was in tears after just the first line! (And no, it's not because she lives with me - that's the power of Stevie.) I think this performance solidifies Stevie's status as competition favourite. Vikesh threw down the gauntlet last night and Stevie picked it up with style! Yeah!

Has anyone noticed how much the promoted Sasha in this episode? All night I kept hearing her name in the show. She was an outsider and they try to make her a star. I don't get it. Stevie is our favourite and I'm sure he has a huge following but in the last 2 weeks the song choices have been dreadful. Sure, he made them sound better than the originals, but why sing a mediocre song and make it sound good when he could sing a good song and make it sound great. He is so much better than his last two songs. Really needs to have a good think about the artist he wants to be and take that into the final. And finally, I'm Scottish but he does not need the clichés - I love pipers but not relevant. Stevie' raw talent is enough.

Yeah, something happens in the lives... in the US as well... things just get wonky...like they are trying too hard... and God only knows what sort of political maneuverings are going on at that point. I think most of us would admit that when it's over more often than not we go back and watch the auditions mostly, then the battles/knockouts.. rarely the lives. These producers haven't learned to keep it simple.

Who are you to judge bleeding love and say it's mediocre? That's one of the best songs of the century(sales wise which is the only statistic we have, my opinion and yours are irrelevant). Also the song is extremely hard and no talent show contestant has been able to sing it on the same key as Leona or sake notes (not suggesting them to do karaoke). As a vocalist myself this is an extremely hard song so pay your respects to it or hush.

I have to say I wasn't a fan of the song choice, I felt it didn't showcase Stevie's voice enough although I felt he did all he could do with it. I'm not crazy the cheesier love songs. I would've loved something on the lines of Bed of Roses. That is a better song with lots of power and emotion I know Stevie could bring across. That said I'm loving the fact is hair and wardrobe were spectacular this week and I'm ecstatic that all the support came through for him today and he's in the FINALS! He deserves this so much!
