This is such a good idea. My best friend was so stressed during her wedding, and while there were areas she could go to that were quieter, it was at A Venue, so time was limited and there wasn’t anywhere familiar and quiet to get a good relax in. Luckily a lot of other folks (esp her parents) pitched in to clean up and get everything taken care of as it was winding down so my partner and I (the best them and they of honor respectively) were able to get the new couple out of there, fed on Taco Bell, and to their nice, quiet hotel room without any worries.

I really appreciate Stevie's take on the husband/wife/spouse thing. Just because words have been gendered historically doesn't mean they must always have the same gendered implication or meaning, to everyone who uses them. Being okay with certain traditionally gendered language as a non-binary person doesn't undermine or invalidate your experience, in the same way that pronouns and presentation don't equate to gender identity, etc. ❤

I'm a florist and I lit tf up when you said you're gonna do real flowers!!!! Makes my little heart sing!!! This is gonna be a long comment so apologies in advance 🙏🏻 So a few things, wedding flowers can be very very expensive, ESPECIALLY if you specifically want to go sustainable with it. It's definitely possible but for example I'm from the UK so to be sustainable using UK grown flowers is best but they usually cost a ton more, they're more limited (especially per season) and other such issues. So for you guys I guess it would be looking for florists that will only use Canada grown flowers. Not only that but wedding flowers are just expensive in general, trust me I know some of the prices you'll get quoted are insane but we really do charge those insane prices for a reason 😅 the intricacies, time, detail and quality of flowers+work is literally so expensive you have no idea, I have 2 degrees in floristry and the wedding units were the absolute hardest, don't even get me started on actually doing them😭 so the prices are mental yes but SO worth it, honestly for me personally having the biggest budget for flowers at a wedding is so truly worth it because they make any venue so so magical!!! Another thing, I don't know if you or your family plan on arranging any flowers by yourselves but I actually recommend against it, especially since you want to be sustainable and are already making your dress and such!! Flowers are typically all done the day and night prior to wedding and the day of the wedding due to needing to have them at a specifc state of Bloom and freshness etc. And that will put a lot of pressure on members of a wedding party, trust me all the florists I know won't even do their own flowers because the time and stress is like crazy overwhelming! Especially because you then have to do all the set by yourself too like....gives me shivers thinking about it😭 it also could cost you a lot more bc if anyone isn't professional it's way easier to make mistakes and snap stems or things to turn out looking a bit off so then you have to remake it but then you're risking the flowers integrity, it's a whole thing, and then the sustainability of wasting flowers and packaging and such,, it's a logistical nightmare 😅 but if it's something you or your family really truly want to do then definitely go for it! Its your big day after all! I just think it's important to know good and well what you're getting into🥲 Also about tulips!!! Amazing choice firstly, one of my fave flowers ever and I'm a HUGE fan of tulips at weddings! So tulips will often be wired for integretity but those wires aren't biodegradable so that's something to keep in mind, but not using wires will mean your tulips are a lot harder to keep in specific positions, and remember tulips just keep growing so if you were to do your flowers yourselves you'll likely have to touch your tulips up like right before the wedding bc they'll likely have grown and moved out of place a bit :') also there's this gorgeous thing you can do either tulips called flexing (or reflexing) where you gently bend the petals outwards, so like the petals flip direction and open up and it looks like completely different flower but it's absolutely GORGEOUS, one of the reasons I love tulips so much 🩷 Also yes I agree big time, faux flowers are a huge waste and nowhere near as pretty but like you said, you can't rent silk flowers for weddings and even silk flower petals! So if you wanted like rose petals down the aisle but don't wanna spend hundreds on real ones then renting some silk ones is always a good shout imo! :] Also there are some absolutely stunning types of floral arrangements out there, don't be afraid to really dig deep and search because there are some less common, truly unique and beautiful types of arrangements out there and it's always worth exploring because you can get some gorgeous non traditional pieces that really make your wedding stand out and feel magical! Okay I think that's everything I wanted to say, I love flowers so much and floristry is such a deep passion I just had to freak out a bit when you mentioned flowers bc wedding floristry is some of my fave 🫶🏼 congrats to you both and I'm so so excited to follow your journey !!!

My advice to make your wedding calm and cool, delegate and trust others with their tasks, and don't sweat anything about how the details go. When I got married I gave my grandma and aunties general ideas for decor and gave them creative liberty, I had a few of my own touches but they were so simple that they only took a couple minutes to add in. When my husband and I arrived at the reception venue an hour or more before it started (we got married in a religious place that didn't need extra decoration) we were chilling and sitting and just chatting happily. The venue owner told us she rarely sees couples so chill, and that those are the ones that are the happiest. After 7.5 years and 2 kids later of being married we're still happy and madly in love.

I think it’s as over as it can be. As I’m sure you know, there’s no way for everyone to exist safely in public. In an ideal world, yes, but in the world we live in? No not at all. The government and general public don’t care enough about the disabled community to make any good serious changes. Since people are no longer dying in the 100s of thousands and can go outside and take a vaccine for Covid, it as a pandemic is over.

Just so you can hear this today, I know people say things about you and assume things about you and mess with you all of the time but tbh I’ve never had a problem with you and it’s very very hard to validate anything negative anyone says. You are such a delight and you’re so sweet and ultimately you really just have an end goal of spreading awareness at the end of the day and God bless you for that. No matter what, your presence online is beneficial for a lot of people who want to feel a sense of safety and connection with others who face the same adversities and also for their families and friends to learn how to be of support and to get to see the good, the bad, and the in between of what you face, butttt not just that you’re someone with a certain “condition” as they’d call it, but that you’re an entire human being with your own personhood(s) and getting to encounter your bubbly and inviting good natured spirit is very destigmatizing. A friend was planning her wedding years ago, I was going to be a bridesmaid and our other best female friend, my partner for the wedding in a suit because she is a lesbian that loves vintage suits. And everyone was perfectly ok with that. The wedding never happened, though, because the groom turned out to be one of those guys that thinks that "everything" is going to change once they got married. (Kids, etc.) My friend was NOT ok with that so she called everything off.
