Hands down the best ever, there really hasn't been anyone take it any further then this man. He single handedly revived the blues because at the time SRV stepped into the picture the blues was all but dead. Man what mighty big if not impossible shoes to try and fill and just think it's been over 30 years since we lost him and his playing style, passion and love for the music has yet to have anyone even come close to matching . Now that's what I call legendary , you know I believe some things God only allowed there to be only one and this lady's and gentleman is one of those. I remember when I first heard SRV I was blown away because I thought I had heard about all there was as of music, but man could SRV hypnotize you with his playing style that was like watching water flow. When he took the stage anyone who played with him had to take the back seat because this man was gonna steal the show and have you know he played with all the great blues players from Albert & B.B King, Clapton and so many others and no one could come close to what he could do. A quote from Clapton was that Stevie never seamed to get lost he would just take it to another level. A true master of his art. Thank you Stevie for blessing the world with the best heartfelt blues music this world will ever know.

My brother Greg died just 3 months before Stevie. He lived in Austin when SRV was just starting in the clubs. He made sure I got to see him 5 times live, in some amazing venues...dancing in the dirt drinking Pina coladas and fried chicken&potato salad I made earlier that day. My hilarious brother screaming "Look at Little Sister" along with SRV live. I always contend when he got to Heaven he started raising Cain for some live rock. He can take the blame. There's one heck of a concert up there!

@@DaddyyCrab they say music soothes the savage beast, music soothes the soul, what would life be without it? SRV was definitely put here to do that. Hes gone physically, but his spirit and his soul will never die. His fans will make sure that his music will remain. Damn, you see how many times he makes adjustments to his guitar? All during a solo? 3:18. Each time getting subtle differences in the sound. He does this like 10 different times, all the while not missing a single note. It was probably just like riding a bike through the park for him. Extraordinary guitarist by far.

5:29 " ya know there's a lot of Love that goes on but we don't think about it until we need it more than ever, cause it's gone... It's up to us to carry on a few new rules. like if we go on through our lives taking from each other,,, You can bet your life we are gonna give it all up in the end...But if you go through your life giving all the time, all you have,, You already had it , you gave it, you never had a problem. And the guy that's there on the ground and needs some help,,, You don't walk up and kick Him. if your gonna do that, You better wear his shoes for a while ... cause you know what, trade places with him he'll pick you up. It's the truth, You better pass around as much Love as you can in your lifetime. that's all we really have to give or accept....Are You with Me. -' Stevie Ray Vaughan

Words we should all be living by IMHO! God gave us 10 commandments. Jesus only gave us two. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." And, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Just think what a wonderful world we would be living in if everyone lived by just those two commandments, JMHO.

Mom looooved her some Stevie Ray. Her passing was so sudden. This was the first song to come on the Stevie Pandora station. No other song seemed to fit the bill. It was played during her services and Lenny at the end to walk out. " The angles have waited for so long... Now they have their way.. Take your place.." So very true. The prettiest flowers are always picked first.

3:48 Stevie does a 2 step bend on that lick. On what I assume were 13 gauge strings. Takes a lot to do that on much lighter strings. And he does it like it’s nothing. Such a legend

And the action of his strings was set high also. Jeff Beck said he tried playing a D chord on one of Stevie's guitars once and couldn't do it because of how high the strings were.

@lthoedt2 жыл бұрын
@@Arlo4511 There is actually a lot of debate. Some people said it was really high some people said it wasnt. But i know this from experience: high action makes bending a lot easier. The thing that is hard about is is that you very easily mute strings when hitting chords (mainly open chords). But the way he got over this is by not playing open chords much. Now another thing is he pretty much always had his left hand covering all strings and pushing them down. This actually is what i like about high action. Its easier to mute the strings and always hit every note hard. I had such high action ones that chords were actually out of tune. (this was around 8mm on 12th fret i believe). So it wasnt as high as that. Its probably on the edge of being out of tune. Again its impossible to verify by someone saying it felt high because they can only compare to what they were used to. Do with this what you want but i thought it would be interesting to share.
