I left a long and rambling complimentary message about how I enjoyed your video and how I come from a different viewpoint to most of your followers and at the moment I'm really struggling with the structure and variation in eight bars from a bass viewpoint I'm not very good at finding things on the internet, but do you have any equally wonderful videos that cover some of the more complex eight bars using the same approach. I understand your videos primarily aimed at lead guitarist but believe me the way presented this one gives me the overview of the structure and that is what I need but often can't find. key to the highway is not a problem but songs like summertime and St. James Infirmary and maybe even sitting on top of the world which is eight bar with nine bars to it😮. I'll particularly the first two are presentedvit in such different ways with different chord structures and changes andvextra chord. I'm looking for something like your approach to help me format my own bass root note chord sheets and then I will improvise.

thank you for excellent video and I'll give a bit of feed but first let me explain that i watched it from a different perspective to most students, I imagine. some of my texts relates to my struggle tomorrow. the sequences of course changes in the neighbourhood. the concept is the same related to your video ... it is clear not in the structure and I wish I could find one on. apologies as I spent days trying to work out an optimum structure for St. James infirmary and Summertime I play bass and I can play quite well but have mountains to climb with songs like this. I had a 51 year break, I an close to time deaf and have damaged hearing and I have almost no musical theory knowledge. I started playing again a couple of years ago and never heard of an eight bar untik a few months ago. Gosh they are so varied if jazz related. I never try to learn riffs or What is played on the original..... unless it's a small riffete like in The Thrill is gone or Black Magic woman. What I need is the structure of the song .... how many beats ob a chord, hence bass root and the actudl root and then I make up the rest, usually quite well,as i go along. I am not in a band and I play at blues jams and the pros or semi-Pros are happy with what I play. i found 101 variations on The sequences and chords used in Summertime and St. James Infirmary. I only found one bass lesson I absented in the summer manner to yours so.... thanks again.
