Kenny Wayne Shepherd is definitely up high on the blues rock legends list too, but SRV opened the gates for KWS with his genius. Going to see Kenny finally in a few months. It's interesting how many better songs than "Pride and Joy" Stevie had, but that's the main song you hear places more than any other front him

@@peggyconner5643 I think that was meant as a compliment, not an insult. I understand where your frustration is coming from though. From what I see in his interviews, I'm sure he would not have wanted to be called a god or a wizard. He seems like he was so down to earth just doing what made him happy in life and put his entire heart soul and being into it up until his death. A very inspiring human.

The man's got the blues. This is far beyond the level of most other guitar heroes. The phrazing sends shiver down my spine, and weekly this tune hits my player.

Was fortunate enough to see him live 5 or 6 times...My 1st concert I ever went to was during this tour- 1985 @ the Bob Carr Center in Orlando,fl. ..he came out for the encore all by himself and sat at the edge of the stage and just jammed for like 15 minutes...mind blowing how good he really was...

People argue that he was the greatest guitar player ever, some say he's in the top five. That wasn't it, his heart is coming out of those strings. He could not play Blues, he had to "Be" Blues to play this way. He was the Blues, at his best when playing for a crowd.
@didarden5 жыл бұрын
yes i believe thats correct. He was driven

As real as it gets..Recalling an interview with SRV..He was asked how did you learn to play the Blues. His Reply: "You don't learn to play the Blues you Live them" If you have never experienced that kind of pain than you wouldn't understand. Thank You for everything SRV!! God Rest and Keep your Soul
