Due to age and going into the military I never saw him live but being from Austin, I was very familiar with him long before he went "national" and was considered a "local boy" here although originally from Dallas. I'm just sad I didn't appreciate the greatness to the extent I should have when he was here and sad he didn't have an opportunity to continue his life and music... still none better....

@bringo43924 жыл бұрын
roberta fioretti I agree. But the point is that Ferrari had to learn from ford. Srv learned from the greats... listen to his playing he is heavily inspired by Albert King imo... you can honestly hear a little bit of all the black blues players simply because the genre was created by us. So naturally you pick up the habits and develop your own along the way, so I agree with you that somebody came before everybody but that’s just the point there was a before and that has to be respected.

IMO he was one of the top 3 of all time. My personal favorite. This performance, and the entire Capital concert, was one of his greatest total performances IMO. The outrageous chord at 0:36 blows me away every time. Most of the crowd was really ecstatic and appreciative, except for a few in row 1 who were either stunned out of their gourds at what they were hearing, or just plain out of it.

@Liam-fn8yl2 ай бұрын
Its not even a chord, which is the craziest part! Its insane the pure ability and range of sound Stevie had at the touch of his fingertips, that section at 0:36 is just a single note being bent, but Stevie's great finger strengths allowed him to bend multiple strings at the same time. So in essence in just on really big string bend, but the way he bends and releases is beautiful, and second nature he's not even thinking about it...
