I was 8 years old and heard the real slim shady on the radio and just loved it and the next week I was at a store with my mom that sold used /new CDs and while my mom was busy looking at shit I went on a search for that c.d. I remember asking a worker if they had Eminem CDs because I was looking in the M's like m&m being a 8 year old idiot. I finally got the cd and put myself thumb over the parental advisory sticker and went and asked my mom if I could please get this Eminem cd. She thought Eminem was something like backstreet boys 😂 . I would listen to that cd non stop on my little cd player and head phones . Big ass head band head phone. I was so obsessed and can relate to what you said about feeling like he saved your life. For those who do not know when he mentions "Luis" he refers to "Luis Miguel" a Mexican singer with whom Mariah Carey had a relationship, and Luis Miguel as Eminem released an album, Luis Miguel saco "Amarte es un placer" which Luis Miguel dedicated to Mariah. I am Mexican and that an idol I mentioned my other idol is cool haha
