We had similar traditions like your family. Good Friday was to sit and watch all the biblical movies. Those days were fun.

Uncle Chris your ground provisions made me miss home today too. I'm from Ghana, West Africa and we have the same things. We will use yams as well with the cocoyams and apem (the cooking bananas). Thank you for this recipe. Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter!! He is Risen, Indeed Chris the Lord is Risen!!

I just finished making this, when your video popped up. Lol, I didn't have the provision so, I did rice, salad & avocados. 🥑 I added black beans to my Salmon. Next time, I am making this with ground provision. Thanks, Chris Happy Easter!

That salmon dish looks delicious, I'll definitely have to try that out. Also you dont put any other seasoning on the boiled veggies besides the salt in the water? Also I'v personally never heard the term "ground provisions" before, is that Caribbean term or manner of speaking?
@caribbeanpot2 жыл бұрын
Very Caribbean (word/term). No need to add anything else but salt. However, should you have leftovers.. refry them. Heat butter, add onion, garlic and your fav herbs, then toss in the extra Ground Provisions.. cook for a few minutes to heat through and add the lovely seasoned butter to it all.

Uncle Chris, help me on this please. I’m a Jewish boy in Miami but know my provisions from Guyana and boiling green banana is common here in Miami. I fear a sour taste adding the unpeeled banana to cook with the root provision and would do like your dear Mum and boil them in a separate pot. Been loving your videos for years and have turned a lot of friends here in Miami on to them. Your soldier, DM ps. Love the Beenie Man sim sim simmer reference!!!👍

While I've never experienced the sour taste, I'm sure there's a reason why prefers to boil hers in a different pot. Do you ever just peel the green banana before boiling?

This looks delicious and I can’t wait to make it. You have so many great recipes on your channel. However my foolish advice is to not stir up the veggies in the pan so much. They cook better if you only stir occasionally.

That looks like a combination that shouldn't work while it does.
