I really like the duct tape idea especially for plants that will have long lives. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!

Awesome video! I wanted to use my Cricut Maker to make labels. I realized that it is much easier, faster, and cheaper to make them using your ideas. I will try at least two alternatives. Great job!

These ideas seem great. Will try the tape method. Why not put sponge with seed in before putting on label?

I use adhesive foam sheets from Walmart and a 1/2” punch to cut the holes works great ! 👍

I like all of your ideas! I had cut some out of an almond milk carton because it won't warp from moisture, I did not worry about it staying in place with tape, but using packaging tape over top would have worked! I love the smiley face labels the best and decorative duct tape would be fun and economical! Thank you :)

Some great ideas here, thanks for sharing! I just purchased some Aerogarden sponges, baskets, and stickers. I was going for ease of use and convenience, but the prices are too high. I'll definitely make my own stickers in the future. Thanks for sharing so many ways. I think I like the fun stickers that you got at the dollar store, but I also like the duct tape option. I'll be sure to stock up on that type of thing so that next time I need them, I'll have them on hand.

All great ideas. I'll have to give a few a try. Starting with painters tape. However would the seedlings stick to it or to duck tape or stickers? 🤔
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I rarely see the first set of leaves (cotyledons) stuck to the duct tape. If so, I just try to seperate them from the tape of just cut the cotyledons. By the time the seedlings started producing real leaves, they will be above the sticker.

Great informative video! I like the kid sticker and Dollar Store stickers the best, but the duct tape look a bit sturdier. Any of them should work.

These are great! I found these 1.75” diameter stickers from Dollar Tree (Treehouse Jumbo Reward Stickers) and they fit perfectly on the baskets! I was worried that the stickiness of the tape was going to cause issues for the little plants to push through the hole. Is it okay?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
That shouldn't be a big deal for seedlings. I, sometimes, use duct tape (much stronger) and the seedlings can mange through it. In case the seedlings get stuck and struggling, please help them using a tweezer and gently pull the leaves from the sticker.

Like the duct tape method!

My way is to buy a sheet of adhesive Foam Sheet paper from local hobby shop (Hobby Lobby or Michaels) for $.99. Use the plastic pod to trace circle, cut the circle out then use a 3/8 (Harbor Fright for $3.00) hollow punch to punch out hole in the center of the cut out where plant can grow. The humidity dome fits perfect. Makes at least 30 per sheet of adhesive foam sheets for less than a dollar

After germination do you remove the foil stickers?
@aerogardenexperiments19 күн бұрын
No, i don't. We should keep the stickers throughout the grow cycle.
@cheryltavares27573 жыл бұрын
wouldn't it be easier to place the sponge inside the pod then wrap it? then place your seeds through the hole.
@aerogardenexperiments3 жыл бұрын
Hi, some seeds like petunias, Amaranth, etc. are extremely small. Some seeds like Mustard, broccoli, kale, etc. are round and roll fast. I missed dropping the seeds in the spots many times.I use tweezer all the time but still missed couple of times. So, I always prefer to drop seeds into sponge first, and then sponge into pod basket.

Have you used this method already? How did it work out?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Yes, all the time. I have a few pods with duct tape I added long ago, and I am still reusing them. Duct tape seems sustainable. But anything new, I follow one of the methods.
@sandracotton19033 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t the tender plant stick to the back of the tape?
@aerogardenexperiments3 жыл бұрын
For most plants, the leaves will come above the sticker by the time they open up. But I do see some leaves open up below the sticker and get stuck. Plants will push themselves up and real leaves start growing above the sticker. Worst case, I cut the cotyledons (first set of leaves), which is totally fine.
@christinamorris28232 жыл бұрын
why don't you just insert the sponge before you put the sticker on?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
We can. I just insert the sponge when I am ready for planting.
