@@StigAviationHey Stig, question for you. Fellow USAF maintainer over here. How does it work at AA, are you guys trained to work on all airframes? If so, that's pretty impressive, I can't even imagine how you do it. We're limited to a specific airframe unless you change jobs but day to day ops are on the same bird. How do you handle jumping from one bird to another? Is there a steep learning curve? I wouldn't say so but still, there's probably gonna be some differences.

A couple of questions for you. 1. At the gates what is the b737 warning box? 2. Say in the event of the airport getting evacuated how would you know to leave or be informed? Only talking about this bcs at LGW (London Gatwick airport) they had to evac south terminal bcs of a bomb. Also in case you were wondering lgw is actually 28 miles from London itself.😂😂 Also love your videos. Tonight I have popcorn, chocolate bar, cuppa tea, fluffy pyjamas, stig shift #48. Honestly, like the captain that said those actuators were dampeners. I know it's not necessary knowledge for a pilot but, still. Reminds me when I asked a pilot if a hole on the side of a 757's engine was the bleed exhaust. He didn't have a clue. However, I did ask a pilot about 737 leading edge deicing because, for some reason, boeing figured the outer slat didn't need anti-ice? That pilot knew what he was talking about. I was simply happy a mechanic could finally explain the cable system for MD slats. First time watching; very nostalgic for me. Especially that early morning airport ramp view. I could almost smell it myself. Cheers!

Hey Stig. Love the new video. Thought I would drop a quick TMI comment. Did you know apparently there is a proper way to load a roll of toilet paper. Several years ago I heard someone on the radio debating this, so they went onto the original patent document for a toilet paper holder. The end of the paper roll should be on the side closest to the user. Don’t know why but for some reason this has stuck in my mind.

Great aventure Stig! Welcome back! I think people at Delta won't be too happy about having the primary cause of their emergency exposed (circuit breakers left open), but could you please elaborate a little more on how leaking water could affect the cables movement?
@StigAviation
@StigAviation 2 ай бұрын
Well it was all over the news, I’m not exposing them it was already discussed and brought into the open. And as I said in the video the water froze the mechanism that moves the aileron cables

@StigAviation Great! Considering the heater is located outside, I thought it was not possible for the water to freeze inside. Anyways, thank you for your answer.

@@MarceloTrindade1 well the problem is that the water pooled down to the main wheelwell, and that’s where the cables are located. There is no heat source in the wheelwell

Another great episode. Watching from 35k crossing the country in a Max row 26 window… when you taxi can you tell us the call number you’re using. That way we can tell it’s you they are talking to. Also how often do they clean or change the pilots wool seat covers?
@StigAviation
@StigAviation 2 ай бұрын
When we are moving aircraft we usually designate the call sign as the originating gate. The flight deck seats are changed out upon pilots request or if they are visually deteriorated
@thereissomecoolstuff
@thereissomecoolstuff 2 ай бұрын
@ the wool seat covers are something I’ve done in my car. I get a sense they are not an easy change. You have to show us a Change out sometime. There is a pilot channel “the pilots life” he is interviewing an AA Captain Brandon Bailey out of LA. I know you know him. Great interview. Check it out. Thx as always.

Great to see you back!! Was watching Rd2 of 777 servicing and noticed the front wheels of the main landing gear appeared to have more brake dust on them as compared to the aft. Do the front axle brakes wear faster than the middle and aft brakes, or was likely just random luck? Maybe due to physics of runway deceleration? Thank you for sharing your adventures!!
@StigAviation
@StigAviation 2 ай бұрын
It’s subjective for brake wear. All depends on how the anti skid system applies to the brake.
