Started out replacing the crankcase on an old 090. Wound up doing a compete restore. This video is of the first start after the rebuild.

Very nice! You did a fine job! It's enjoyable to resurrect old Stihl saws. I have resurrected an 076. Hopefully some day to find an 090 like this one to do. Thanks for the video.

This has a different sprocket setup than other 090's I've seen online. Usually, the removable cover is on the inside. Was this a newer style model?

Yes, I used the Stihl OEM spray cans, Orange and Grey. The old paint on the engine cover was in decent shape, I just sanded and sprayed a couple coats on it. The Air filter cover had to be taken down to bare metal, Then I hammered out a couple dents. It took about 10 coats to get the Finished look. Sanding between coats was a must. All the grey pieces got an extra, top coat of grey from the same can, just to make sure they all blended together. I also replaced ALL screws/nuts/bolts with new.
