God bless you, too! Thanks for the video. I’m looking at trying to my KM-FS 131R to be able to compare it to the Speed Feed 450 (modified to accept 0.130”/3.3 mm silent/twisted line). I tend to favor 0.155”/4 mm, 0.130”/3.3 and 0.105”/2.7 mm over all others.

Thanks! And thank you for watching! :) The FS-131 is definitely a fighter, I really am amazed of how many things it can while still taking a large beating. I’ve only been using .105 line since I purchased it. Line any smaller just would get eaten away faster then any job would get finished. I have purchased Stihl’s c3 pro line with a diameter of .130, so I look forward to trying that out and see how it works compres to .105.

Just purchased my first 36-2 auto-cut to use on my Stihl fs-460..will run .105 and see the results. Up until now I have only used the brush knife and the saw blade on the 460 beast. Something very gratifying about this work. Peace....

I didn’t know that head for the 460, that is cool! The .130 line fits in that head as well and works great and light/thicker vegetation.

Personally, I like the 26-2 as well as my older 25-2 as well. Kinda wanting to get the 40-2 and try it out on my 110r or soon to b purchase 130r. So far the only heads I have used r the speedfeed heads from echo, the 25-2, 25-2 (speed load), 26-2, older manual load echo heads, 36-2, and a flex blade (pivoting blade) brush cutter head. So far, I like them all equally. I have also tried a knockoff supercut 20-2 auto feeder head but it didn’t go to plan bc it was cheaply made. Wanting to try the actual stihl one (supercut) as well.
@golovinpropertyservices Жыл бұрын
I haven’t had as much experience trying new ones. But my choice for the 36-2 was mainly because it held .130 trimmer line which just changed everything. Using the 26-2 I was having to replace the line every 2-3 fuel tanks and it got a little annoying carrying around the line and having it go away. Once I tried the .130 line it just changed everything, I could use one spool for an entire day and it actually cut this canary grass with ease.

I want the original head my stihl came with and it's a 36-2 all the replacement heads cut at a higher level than what comes with the stihl fs 91. I've looked everywhere and can't find 1

That’s strange, I haven’t had any issues with my current 36-2. It could have been an older version of it. But I can only say good things about this 36-2.

Got my machine in but supply statics are really bad. So half the order came. Can't find any autocuts locally. So gotta wait
@golovinpropertyservices3 жыл бұрын
That is awesome you got yourself a new machine, but that does suck about the supply issues. If you don't mind asking, where area are you located? I'm up in Washington State and we have a good amount of the basic things. For trimmers, anything fancier than an FS-240 has to be ordered, but parts are usually all at hand.
@RKPTMcCoyBros3 жыл бұрын
@@golovinpropertyservices Ohio. I was curious on you as well. Was always thinking Carolinas or similar. Wow West coast. Awesome. And yes anything big needed order. Along with the new heads and guards. They did have a 560 though on hand haha
@golovinpropertyservices3 жыл бұрын
@@RKPTMcCoyBros Seems that Washington state is sort of the last option frog everyone lol. I’m actually surprised to here they’re having supply issues over in Ohio. I personally haven’t ordered anything that required wait times, so I don’t know what it’s like for bigger machines. I think the “abundant” supply of parts here might also be because they’re not as in demand and it could be old stock. Most people here love the Stihl Chainsaws but everything else is normally not the first option. I was searching for any clearing saw I could find and anytime there’s one that’s used it’s usually 300 miles away from me and it sells within a few days. I’d love to try out a 560, especially because it has twice the power of the 131 and it has all the fancy technology. But maybe in the future
@RKPTMcCoyBros3 жыл бұрын
Remember that weight though. One reason I went 460. Plus how big of things will I get into. I'll have either a chainsaw next or the KM series for other jobs and clean up
@golovinpropertyservices3 жыл бұрын
@@RKPTMcCoyBros The weight is a big factor, haven’t really considered it much. My thinking is basically in the entire power output. If it’s twice the power I should be able to get 2-3 times the area cut/cleared then with the FS131 which would save 2-3 hours. I’d definitely get the KM with a chainsaw attachment, that thing is actually awesome. If you’re not planning on cutting anything thicker then 4-5 inches for now then the KM with the chainsaw attachment is the way to go.

Hey i have a question, i got a FS131 too, but the Primerbulb gets never full no matter how often i press it, only 1/3 maybe half full, how is yours? The Trimmer runs fine but i wonder maybe mine has a small air leak on the primer circuit. Thanks and have a nice day
@golovinpropertyservices3 жыл бұрын
I have the same thing with my FS-131, for both of them actually, I can only recall it being filled up when it’s very cold outside. Apart from that they’re usually at 1/3 full maybe a tad more, but they haven’t been filling up. As long as you aren’t losing power or see any weird things happening it should all be good. Have a good day too! :)

What trimmer line you use and what size?
@douglasperez59522 жыл бұрын
I understand that the weed Trimmer has different kinds of head depending the height of the grass? Am i correct?
@golovinpropertyservices2 жыл бұрын
It's partially correct. The different sizes of trimmer heads are based on the size of the trimmers motor. In this case, this trimmer head can fit .130 trimmer line, which is not what an average homeowner would be using. An average home owner uses .95 or .105 size line and with a smaller trimmer head. In this case, I need larger line to cut this grass because it's very thick and that requires a larger trimmer head.

@@Thankyou_Kusakari I do have a few grass blades, I just can’t use them all the time since in some areas there are trees hidden in the tall grass. I haven’t seen or heard of anyone owning any Makita brush cutters in this area. Most of it is either Stihl, echo, or cheaper Chinese brands.

What are the benefits in using this string head and not the mulching blade in your other videos? I guess thin grass will decompose easy enough and doesn't need to be mulched? Just got a Fs-131 and was using a Kurt-Saw blade to clear a bunch of saplings and grasses. Loved it!
@golovinpropertyservices3 жыл бұрын
This area has trees and saplings that are usually blocked by all the tall grass. When you're using a mulching blade it goes a lot faster, but it's usually too late to see the mulched up saplings. The string works pretty good and breaks it down more then a mulching blade would.

I think the 46-2 is even a little bit bigger then the 36-2. I didn’t expect the trimmer head to be that large. But the 36-2 is the largest AutoCut the FS 131 can support according to factory standards.

@Ben, I can honestly say, if the 410U has been made to replace/imitate Shindaiwa’s B450 - still available in Latin America - you will NOT be disappointed! Mine is older than my 19 year old daughter and it is still my favorite toy - and I can talk great about the FS 240 and FS 560! Heck, I would try the 410U in a heartbeat if someone invites me to. I tried the Rednax at a store years back, however, it’s harness is a no no for me so I desisted the idea yet wouldn’t mind trying with a different harness like a Stihl Advance Universal - provided with the FS 560 - or Husqvarna Balance XT - my favorite one! Hope this helps. Happy heavy trimming time!

@@joshuavanhoozer1518 Yeah it seems that in the states they’re not as popular. But depending on what kind of trimming work you do they are back savers. If you’ve got a 131r you’re probably most likely cutting down some thicker brush. I know personally for me when I use a regular handle trimmer I always have to lean forward and put my weight on one leg more then another and it ends up placing lots of tension on one side of my lower back. What I’m doing in the video, wouldn’t have been possible if I was using a regular handle, because it would just be too much tension on the lower back for a long period of time.

A brush hog would be great, the only problem is there is no way to get it into this area I’m working at. There is one but it’s used for different areas that are accessible, as the trees grow and then certain events occur (like flooding due to beaver activity) it makes it harder and harder to do certain work.
