The blade installation instructions were great. I was able to put my blade on my FS 90 in just a few minutes. When I started it, the trimmer shook like a beast. As I guessed, the blade had slipped off that restraining lip before I tightened the outer cap and nut. It was easy to fix, but I recommend making a mark on the blade with the outer cap centered. Just scratch or mark the blade around the outer cap to show the correct alignment. Anyway, the blade worked like a champ. Thanks again.

I use the heaviest string .155 in my Echo gt225 rapid loader . It goes thru anything and without replacing the string often . I cut it a bit shorter to compensate for the heavier weight / lower RPM's.

I used to like the square cut .105 dia string for trimming. Unfortunately guys would eventually get too close to things like vinyl siding and it would shread it. I use the twist string pretty much all the time now because it's quiet and you can "sneak up" on weeds and grass... lol. Good vid buddy

I like the twist string. I have used square string to. I have same prob with twisted as i did with square . Maybe I dont wind string well enough but with those two it gets tangled or i guess just caught stuck together every once in a while. I think twisted is my favorite so far .

i run a kM131 kombi and a FS250 Bullbar model, I don"t usually need to use a blade but when i do the options there. I have used blades on other machines but not yet on these two. I recently purchased a 3 bladed brush knife and a chisel tooth blade, so i hope to try both of them on my FS250 Bullbar machine. I only use blades on bullbar machines because you have far better control over the machine in a kick back situation. May stalky Dock plants and Gorse be in danger from now on.

@wtbm12311 жыл бұрын
The grass blades are good for real thick grass and bigger stuff like in a field.For normal trimming around walks buildings fences and things I like string. If you have a weed whacker that is able to run a blade ,i would recommend having at least one blade.

hi, I was wondering the best thickness for cutting grass .. thiner the better or thicker.. I understand thicker move slower and thin move fast is it true>? I normally use echo crossfire .095 but thinking to go for .0101 gator string with star shape..
@wtbm12310 жыл бұрын
Thicker seems to last longer ,but sometimes changing from the original size will cause issues. Small string seems to cut lite stuff better at lower rpms but does not last or do as well in thicker grass.

Hi WTBM123: Thank You for the great video and information. I do have a problem. The part that you call a "bump guard" is something that I cannot find online. I would love to have one for my Makita weed eater. The main problem that I have is that I am in Central America (Panama) and I have to order online. If you have the correct name of what it is, Then I could order one. Any help that you could give me would be fantastic. Again Thank You

You might could use a piece of PVC with a 90 degree elbow and short piece to clamp with 2 U bolts to the shaft just past the handle? Or look on EBay they seem to have all kinds of stuff.

well the fs70 when I got mine 5 years ago was sold as an entry level professional unit, which seems more like another version of the fs56. THE BEST trimmer line is the Husqvarna Titanium Force!!!!!!!!! Before Husqvarna marketed this trimmer line it was sold under another brand name years ago, I first bought this line about 8 years ago and found it to be the best medium to heavy duty line on the market, and then the brand disappeared. I started hoarding the line since I couldn't find it anywhere and I used cheaper line for normal jobs and saved this line for heavier brush....this stuff will cut through almost anything and it worked great on thick Blackberry vines that I have all over my property, anyone who knows how thick blackberry can get knows what Im talking about. I used a 10hp DR Trimmer/Mower, but in some places it just wasnt practical to wheel around this unit and a bushwacker was easier, but most lines didnt hold up and I wasted money on all kinds of brands, but not this Husqvarna (or whatever it was branded before), line! On a recent visit to my local Stihl dealership I ask the service guy if they had anything like the line I was hoarding...he said we have EXACTLY that line...and it was the Husqvarna Titanium Force! He wasnt sure who had made it before, but I am sure Husqvarna realized the greatness of this trimmer line and bought that company or rights out. Anyways, it might be a little more expensive (200ft. Spool of 0.095in runs $15 at Lowes), but this stuff will last forever as it tears through the thickest brush!!!!! ALERT!!!!!!!! ONLY USE THIS TYPE/SIZE TRIMMER LINE IN QUALITY, HEAVY DUTY TRIMMERS, DO NOT USE IN A CHEAP, UNDERPOWERED TRIMMER!!! I use it in my FS 90 S which is about 9yo.

When i took the blade off I can see scratch marks of a miss shape circle like if it goes side to side I do make sure is properly centered I used it for like 2 min and I just turn it off the vibration had my hands tingling for like 5 min after haha but it cut very good just vibrates to much I'll try a different blade maybe or its probably the wrong on I bought the blade about 10 years ago so dont have the original packaging to verify if it's the correct blade for my fs130r

About the string talk, you should get better string than just string you buy at Wal-Mart. You can find ugly line at home depot. That is the strongest string you can find anywhere. It is a yellowish neon green color. If you use that string, you won't waste time changing string when you are working. Good video though and thanks for sharing.
