My Stihl ms271 chainsaw seized up a year ago from running fuel that was part ethanol...won't do that anymore. So.i went online to find a video of how to rebuild the engine myself. I found donyboy73 on youtube and for less than half what the repair shop wanted, I had my saw running better than new! While my saw was down, I bought a Husqvarna Farm Boss chainsaw at Keene's small engine repair in Millington, and it's a great saw! The problem.i have now is one saw is a 3/8 pitch chain and the other is a .325 pitch chain which doesn't sound like a problem until you go to buy chains, bars and files to sharpen your chains. I looked online again and messaged donyboy73 about my issue and he agrees it's possible to change my .32525 sprocket on my Stihl to a 3/8 sprocket and then use the same bars, chains, and sharpening tools on both saw...I am researching the best deals to do this change and will let you know how it goes! Thanks Donyboy73 for all of your help and sharing your knowledge!

nice to see you grease the bearing so many dont, puzzled why you didnt pre-oil the chain first instead of putting it straight on and using it dry. Your vids are great & so helpful to the layman, keep um coming Danny ;-)

Stihl recommends turning the sprocket 360 degrees to insure the sprocket slot is engage with the worm gear arm. If the E lip will not fit in its slot the sprocket is not engaged with the worm gear arm.

I have a new generator with a metal gas tank. Do you think I'm better off keeping the tank full, adding sta-bil and running the carb dry or draining the tank completely

I would rather have put a clutch drum with a rim sprocket on it so you can just change the rim sprocket instead of the whole drum but great video.

thanks for all your great videos. I had to use one for repairing a loose handle on my mtd snowblower. I found that the bolt has snapped and was difficult to get out. After watching your video I drained the gas and oil and took off the belly pan. Rather than using a chisel, I used a punch with a hammer to remove the welded nut and it came right out. Thanks
