Thanks at 61 years young it not as easy as before! I don't like the factory EZ start because it also has the bar retention that only has the tool less retainer. I like the two bolt bar retainer system.

If it can find out what part number Flywheel and recoil starter unit I need to get.

He says it very expensive to convert one, much cheaper to Buy one with it already on, you must buy a New Flywheel and Complete starter, Tim had used parts that He converted this one in Video, He changed Jobs so He cant get the part numbers for the parts anymore. I also see you said you didnt want the Factory one. i guess look for and older Saw with it on and switch parts.

I want to convert mine to normal start. I hate having to unreel 3 feet of cord just to turn the engine over about 2 revolutions.

It is different to get use to using the Easy Start.

@@jcherry50 I bought it for 120$ PUT 100 bucks worth in it..plus I ported and polished it..18" bar..it screams ..for a tiny saw..took the screen out of the muffler cleaned it..put the A carb on it..anything else I can do? I rely on a ms411 to pay my bills but the 026 is my play and limb saw when nobudys looking lol

@@jcherry50 wel how much is o 021 worth from 1992..? It's worth alot to me because I love the 0 series best..the bearing went out in the clutch and eat a hole through the oil pump..i pit new pump in and in welded the case and replaced bearing and drum sprocket to run the thick chain..oils like he'll now ..light wieght..awsome saw

I want to convert from EZ start to regular start (Its not reliable in the cold). What parts do I need to be able to do this? Ive seen People doing it so i know Its possible. Best regards :)

You need to Buy a New Flywheel and a Complete starter.

Today I was quoted $500 bucks to purchase the EZ pull kit for my MS271-I. Can this be right?

Dont think the Saw New cost that much, sounds to High, I will ask Tim and see what He says.

@@jcherry50 The sales person told me it would be cheaper to buy a new one with the EZ start system. Doesn't make much sense that the kit, which contains only a few parts, would cost that much unless it is based on manufacturing and sale numbers. Thanks for the reply Jeff
