Lot's of great info here to really take to heart when putting together your training program. There are many ways to train and it's all about finding what works best for you. It never really made sense to me that you needed to "change your entire workout" every 4 - 5 months and that's because when you understand what's really happening in your body.... well... there is no need to. I drop a lot of great information in this video that I hope you all find helpful. Please be sure to drop a comment if you have any questions! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full Article: muscularstrength.com/article/Am-I-Not-Growing-Muscle-If-I-Am-Not-Sore Original video from 2015: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXyZf6CtopJ2pqs CODE: HERMAN (10% OFF entire site!) @ScottHermanFitness8 ай бұрын
Working out does not stunt your growth. That is a myth created by ignorant parents unfortunately. What DOES stunt your growth is not getting enough nutrition. So make sure you are eating WELL as you continue to train hard at the gym! Lots of water too!

Good video, although I have the opposite problem, I would like to get less sore especially after consistently working out for years I still need 2 days for full recover and if I workout every second day I still workout sore and it can impact my daily life as well. I reckon progression with proper form is more important then being sore.. If you progress on your lifts for entire year with proper form without worrying about being sore there's no way you haven't built any muslce (with proper nutrition too)
@Suumac_8 ай бұрын
Very informative as always, did a hard winter bulk and now it's time to cut, can I lift less frequently on a cut and maintain most of my muscle and cut fat as long as I have enough protein or will it go away if I train less? I've never cut before
@ScottHermanFitness8 ай бұрын
really depends on the calorie deficit you are in. Losing bits of size as a natural is typical when cutting. You will also lose strength... but nothing is stopping you after you cut to switch to a more strength building program once you reach your desired size and shape
@Suumac_8 ай бұрын
@ScottHermanFitness copy that Scott🫡, I work a physical job so I'll see if I can keep a decent amount of muscle on the cut while not actively training and after I drop maybe 15 pounds I'll go hard again and maingain

does it have to be 12-14 days off? how about 1 week off every 3 months? also, how does age affect these reset days? do younger people need less time and older people need more time?
@ScottHermanFitness8 ай бұрын
This has nothing to do with being young or old. The goal is to re-sensitize your body to muscle damage as much as possible. Experiment with the time off. Train for 3 months and try 14 days... then after next 3 months try 7 days... and repeat. You have you entire life to train, start experimenting. 😉
