Gonna pin this for now - YOU GUYS!! Thank you so much for 300 subs. That is insane and it feels like such a short amount of time since I started. This is super encouraging to keep going, and trust me, I plan to! Got a lot of videos in the works. Don't be a stranger :)

i love this video i heard you were going to do a mod video on this but i was wondering i have been wanting to see a "ultimate guide to mod your keyboard" type video to showcase all the mods like not just 1 or 2 or "the best mod" show wire balancing and foam mod tape mod holee mod ect like a top tear mod video i would make this video but do not have the time or skill to make it good and that's what i love about your channel when i saw your video i thought u had at least 25k subs u are very underrated and your content looks very professional keep up the good work.

You should! The r3 is still in stock at kbdfans and will also be coming in and out of stock at other vendors as they get shipments in. I highly recommend it.

I actually built mine right around December. I purchased mine as a 2nd hand ( I was too late to get in the gb) redid all stabs, switched them out with some durock v2s smokeys. I cleaned it all. With switches, I went with some C3 Tangies. Could've done a better job on the C3s but I still got the right amount of thocc. Remove the foam below the pcb and switched to a thicker (denser) foam. I don't know why but the foam below the pcb included made my 67LR3 key chatter. Overall, I really really love it so much.

tbh after holee modded the stabs it sounds alot better than expected, only lubing sounded horrible but after holee modding it was actually somewhat decent, i thought holee mod was overated but it was really good, really recommend

Nice demo! ASA sounds great for the price. In my opinion, the stabilizer pads are kind of nice for silent builds that already have a cushioned bottom-out, but not as much for regular switches. The actual stabilizers that came with this kit, however, are mid. Just going to swap them out :/ Looking forward to the mods.

would you say it's possible to only use krytox 205g0 on the stabs? (that they sound okay)
@coleydotmp42 жыл бұрын
Yes. Just make sure that you use enough where the stab wire sits inside the housing so it eliminates the rattle. I use dielectric grease there since it's thicker and seems to work better in my experience. But 205g0 will work! (holee mod in addition to the krytox would be best though)

did you pre-order the pcb or keyboard?
@coleydotmp42 жыл бұрын
Hey! I got the initial stock when the R3 dropped on Black Friday. The preorder means you'd be paying upfront and when they get it back in stock, you would get one. I'm not sure when they'll be back in stock, hopefully not too long though since it's one of their most popular boards.
@CrisPBacon_YT2 жыл бұрын
@@coleydotmp4 ty im saving up my money to make a $200 custom keyboard and i was wondering if the pre-order for the PCB was different that the regular $119 one so thx for the reply and by any chance do u know if it will come pre built?
@coleydotmp42 жыл бұрын
@@CrisPBacon_YT Looks like the preorder board ships in march - i'd assume the non preorder means it would ship now. The board doesnt come prebuilt - but if you follow the build guide, it's quite easy.

Which one is better? The bakeneko65 or the kbd67lite
@coleydotmp42 жыл бұрын
Good question. I don't have personal experience with the Bakeneko 60 or 65 (almost bought one last night but ultimately passed due to having other boards in mind), but depending on what you prefer, the bakeneko is probably better. You're paying for a cool mounting style, better flex, and better material (if you prefer metal cases). Downsides though - you cant use screw in stabs, and it also has a clackier sound profile. I don't know if it's possible to get the bakeneko to sound as deep as a stock KBD67lite. you definitely would need some case foam. I don't feel like either board is inferior, but neither is a bad choice. Two really great options, comes down to preference and if you had any price requirements. Hope that helps.
@jefferychew91372 жыл бұрын
@@coleydotmp4 would you know how to get some case foam if I did go for the bakeneko. I am currently planning to use the cow switches from infinity keys

@@jefferychew9137 I would grab some Noico ( i use this www.amazon.com/Noico-Deadening-Automotive-Insulation-Dampening/dp/B07QY1X35P?pd_rd_w=U9QLi&pf_rd_p=ee521540-07c2-4687-9605-13c98e32ab2c&pf_rd_r=CHNKP16SVVX5Z2RG2D7S&pd_rd_r=58332cbd-209d-44a8-82e3-08abcc1fda1d&pd_rd_wg=fLiX6&pd_rd_i=B07QY1X35P&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_1_i) Might be too thick though, so to be safe you could buy some PE foam (or if you had any extra laying around)

I love that you asked! There's boards like the GAS67 that are a fantastic value, some new akko boards that have also been amazing. if you like TKLs, the tiger80 is better board overall than this one. But i guess in terms of thockiest, deepest sounding board, this one probably still wins.
