Ok I think I got this, I want to do a 6 gal mash, end up with 1.080 SG, i need 480 ppg, if I use 10lbs corn, 4lbs, malted barley, 2lbs malted white wheat, with all that math, that should be the results correctly?? Ends up with 10% ABV mash??

Will do thanks for the easy math way too know how much of what to add, if I don't have any hight temp enzyme, to add to the corn, the grains and regular amalyse enzyme under 155 temp should help convert it correct?

@StillnTheClear ok here is what happened during "mashing in" I did like Randy from stilleworks and brewing. I heated about 4 gals of water in a pot, poured that in a 10gal cooler. Added my 10 lbs of cracked corn, I remilled it a bit more. I stirred. let sit the 90 minutes. After the temp was 157 I added my 4 lbs of remilled barley, and 2 lbs of remilled white wheat. After 90 minutes, and did the iodine starch test it was still black. And after 2 hours iodine was still black.So I went ahead and I sparged it to my 7 gal fermenter bucket.i then ended up getting about 6 1/2 gals of liquid after adding cooler water to get the temp down to 90, I then took a Gravity reading, it was only 1.020, so I had to add 8lbs of sugar just to get it up to 1.070 reading. What did I do wrong as to why my malts did not convert my starches???
@StillnTheClear
@StillnTheClear 2 күн бұрын
@@jeffcurry4451 when you say you remilled the corn, does that mean it was ground? Cracked corn does not convert well because so much of the inside of the kernel pieces aren't exposed to the water.

Well she’s still working off. I started it a week ago. It’s 4 gallons of pure maple syrup, 5 lbs of fine ground soft white wheat which I left in to work on the grain, then a brew bag with 2lbs of oats and a pound of honey malt. Then I 1 added 25oz bottle of glazed donut flavored pure cane syrup, 4 oz of maple extract 2oz maple bacon extract and 8 chopped grilled bacon slices with all the drippings which was about 3oz of fat. I have a 1 gallon of maple syrup, 1 whole bottle of glazed donut syrup for the along with more maple bacon extract to mix with it to infuse that flavor directly into the vapor in my thumper.. I have a 16 stainless pot with a single 8” chamber in the 2”x24”column I pack with copper mesh and then it goes to a 8 gal stainless thump so there is a very good second distillation going on. I run it real slow like and I don’t bother running it again… especially when each mash cost $300 for 25 gal of mash. Maple is an expensive option to run do doing 2 and stripping and rerunning it would be way too much work and cost

American weights and fluid measurements don't coincide with the rest of the world. Don't forget your KZbin channel goes across the world, come on Cyrus change your method of calculations for the people who don't live in THE USA!!!!

Hey Dave, I get your point. KZbin gives me all my analytics. 91% of my audience is in the US. If I did my measurements in metric units the largest majority of my audience would be lost. Plus, I would have to learn the metric system, lol.

I don't see why he should? Cmon man, do the simple math conversion in whatever units you like for your own use, this is not to give you calculus, Cyrus explains process and just appreciate that...
