We live in northern LA county, in an area called Antelope Valley. You answered my question on a video you made about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I wanted to give you an update. I changed banks since my family last filed taxes in 2018. We have not filed yet this year for 2019. The stimulus update page said it was deposited in a bank account closed at the time. We contacted the bank, the bank said the money would be sent back to the IRS. I wanted to let you know less than 10 days later we received a paper check. So if this helps your audience, if the bank account you used last is closed, the stimulus check comes in the mail. Only one thing still kinda under-explained... and it’s admittedly a very narrow group My co-worker was p’d-off because he thought you had to have filed both ‘18 ~AND~ ‘19 taxes to qualify, in addition to the income qualification He hadn’t filed his 2018 but just filed his 2019 By all accounts I’ve heard, he’s going to be fine since they’ll see his 2019 information and go off that I know In the past that I’ve not filed, like I think 2011 and 2014 or somewhere in there, but having made $13k and claiming 1, all I did was possibly cost myself money... not sure how far back I can retroactively file, but now I’m off-topic Took 3 of us to keep saying “your 2019 is done, that’s what they’ll look at, you should be fine” If he hadn’t yet filed his 2019, THEN they’d look for his non-existent 2018 information Even if the 3 of us are wrong, it sounds like the IRS has that portal thing coming up so even then he’d be ok, just with a bit of a slower timeline having to wait for the portal to launch
