Hey ray! What do you think about making a bot using one of those small shredding machines? You could call it "Shredder" and paint a rat on it. If the objective is to destroy the other bot then what would do it better than a shredding machine? Larger ones eat complete cars so a smaller one should work perfect. Just need to figure out how to feed the other bot to it. Ever thought about using tungsten carbide mining buttons on weapons? Pretty much indestructible. And they come in all different shapes. Insert a bunch into the leading edge of any weapon and you can make it smaller while still doing large amounts of damage. What if you had one of the motors where the outer casing spins and the center shaft is stationary and instead of using gears and chains you installed the motor in the middle of your spinner? Nothing to break but the motor itself. The motor becomes the weapon with all the armor it needs to protect it.
@ray9368Ай бұрын
It’s really a matter of weight management. The shredding machines you are talking about are insanely heavy. Always an order of magnitude heavier than the items they are chewing on. It’s a cool idea but I doubt anyone could make it effective in a combat robot. But I admit I would love to see one!

Spinners are always vertical or horizontal (at least as far as I've seen). How would a weapon like this work at a 45 degrees angle?
@AQucsaiJrАй бұрын
Would love to see a breakdown of the electronics that these larger robots use. Coming from the world of 1lbs, I can not conceive how you get the little receiver to control such a large motor and motor controllers at that huge voltage.
@ray9368Ай бұрын
It really isn't anything extreme. The principles are exactly the same, just larger components. I can hopefully have time to do a "wiring up and testing" video on Tombstone, getting ready for BattleBots Faceoffs, and I'll try to go more into the specific parts then.
@AQucsaiJrАй бұрын
