Honestly, making a full game out of the Case West dlc that has never been released outside of the Xbox 360 would be amazing. I feel like that dlc is sorely needing a lot of changes and improvements plus it'll give us more interactions between Frank and Chuck

Just a guess on my part. Seeing that Chuck Greene outfit on the pre order makes me think they'll do DR2DR next if this does well. Maybe after that a new DR3 game that will act as a continuation of these deluxe remasters (making the universe go in a different direction). It is more of a hope on my part. I like DR3 but I would prefer a different timeline and have a new game with Chuck and Frank as the playable characters. Like Flame_Blaziken mentioned, a full Case West game would be awesome. Lets not forget the potential of DR2OTRDR lol

I think he's responsible for more than half of the English speaking DR1 community today. The only other comparable creator I can think of is Marcel Vos, like yeah every likes and remembers the game, but way less people would hear about the remake if it wasn't for STiP0. In Marcel's case, they did "remake" RCT1/2 (RCT Classic) but you probably haven't heard about it, but if they did another, because of Marcel, you'd hear about it. Then there's the Dunkey LoL thing, but I didn't care about it because I don't like the game, so I can't speak further on the topic. Lastly, there were a few Saint's Row creators, but the most analogical one to this would be Flippy, but anyone is tired of reading this by now so they can look it up themselves if they want to know. Most of the hate comments are from channels who's only comments are on this video, meaning they never heard of STiP0 before, saw a news article about it, and came without any knowledge of what he's actually done, and isn't just some "DR content creator". He's the DR community creator.

My only…concern, let’s say, is that they’ll tone down the sexual parts of the game. We can already see in screenshots that they’ve updated Cheryl’s dress to cover more of her body, and I have a suspicion they’ll remove the “erotica” category of photography. Does it affect me personally? Nope. Can I Google “Big Boob” and get a trillion results? Sure. But updating an older game with modern sensibilities always rubs me the wrong way, either leave all the features intact or just don’t bother remastering it!

This game has been apart of my life since childhood. Not only is the remake getting released on near my birthday, we have the Thug zombie back but we have STAIRS for the survivors to climb. Capcom in general has generally stopped the whole “farm out sequels to Western studios” thing they experimented with in the late 00s to early 2010s. The majority of what they’ve put out since 2017 at least has been made in house. They do still have some Westerners assist in production (RE7 had a writer from FEAR work on the game, and RE Village got one of the writers from Dead Space involved), but yeah I don’t see them attempting something akin to “have this company in Canada make the sequel” anymore.

Now that would make things a lot more interesting. 3 wasn’t horrible they had the right idea but executed it very poorly along with a lot of unforgettable characters and boring setting. 4 wasn’t even real more like a fever dream. What exactly would be a proper sequel though? I’ve always seen lots of fans propose the idea of a prequel maybe in this case as the second installment. That would be a cool addition to the timeline and pay homage to the first game since that is what led to the events of the Willamette incident. Experience the downfall of SC and Carlitos pre-villian arc since you’d play as him from his perspective. The games have never taken place in a tropical setting so it would be a cool spin to it if they wanted to change up the game timeline moving forward. The city in dead rising 3 was just too massive and very unforgettable.

They had the hardware to make an insane dead rising game but they went down that AAA typical let down route, over hyped mediocre product. They went too over the top and that’s not to say that dead rising games aren’t over the top. They’ve always had that element like in 3 and 4 but without the boundaries. 1 and 2 had boundaries which was the perfect balance of over the top if that makes any sense. I feel like you lost all sense of desperation being a normal dude trying to fight for your life to survive a zombie outbreak like in 1 and 2. They forgot the main element that made those the gems of the entire franchise. An amusement park would be cool along with a prequel setting in SC. Could even pull off a huge exotic resort in a setting like that. I feel like with all deadrising settings they brought in the most interesting characters like in 1 and 2. You had a typical American super shopping mall and then Las Vegas. Both places usually have interesting settings within and have all sorts of people from all walks of life. You could do that with a city but they botched it with DR3 so they should try something else if they’re starting fresh on the drawing board with these DR remakes and a possible continuation of the franchise

I'm still torn. On the one hand, I'm all for giving some new spit and polish to the models, sensible additions to the mechanics (praise the LAWD we can move and shoot!), and adding in the cut content, but Frankie...oh Frankie....I do not like this at all, and I'm a little miffed to get charged to get the original model (and hopefully voice tracks). So, still a wait and see, but gonna need a lot more extra beef to be worth it for me.

Well with the recent controversy, I'd feel remiss not to say that Sean Lacefield, the guy behind the end credits song "Justified" has claimed to have been stiffed by Capcom, alongside other artists who's content was allegedly stolen. It's on his 2022 (New Instrumental) upload's comment section if anyone wants more context. Not exactly relevant, but if we're talking about lacking respect, Capcom has been exuding that for a while now in various little ways that've been adding up. It's a mundane controversy tbh, but your opinion would have gone a long way towards swaying my impression of the game that I don't think anyone else has. It's likely an unspoken rule or just not much effort put into it on Capcom's side, but it's still rather ridiculous to think The Guy that comes to my mind when thinking of Dead Rising got stiffed. The actions I feel unwarranted, but the feeling of disrespect? Oh yeah, that's Capcom to everybody, there's no defense for Capcom the more you look into them unfortunately.

Removing the survivor limit and fast forwarding time fundamentally changes the game for me. The tight limits were the main challenge to get that perfect run.

Its a bit tricky these days. Nintendo never calls their remakes remakes even though following Shadow of the Colossus Remake rules (one of the first remakes) they all are. But we also dont get low effort remasters anymore like in the PS4 days. Just a res/fps bump and thats it. So I guess marketing figures only visual overhauls (no matter if its a total new engine redo) its better to market it as a remaster. And then you have remakes that really make a new game out of the existing story and setting like RE4R and FF7R. Having said that even the developers in the interview basically recognize this is probably a remake. And clearly it is based on previous remakes that have been released. Just the title is safely dubbed ‘deluxe remaster’ to set expectations. The framework of the game hasnt changed and neither has anything been expanded upon so thats why I guess. DR fans wont care ofc.

The biggest complaint I have is the blood spilling not being as dynamic. For example the blood just pops in a lot of the time and you see blood effects fall through the floor quite a bit where in the original the blood will cause a stain decal wherever the splatter went. Also the decals seem really repetitive so far so hitting with face or a heavy blunt pretty much cause the same blood amount and stain type to spawn in instead of it being more dynamic.

From what I've seen, this could be one of the best remakes ever, I feel like they use the word remaster to even further nail the fact that this is a love letter to the original, and how the game was perfect, and a little modernisation but without changing it completely is exactly what the fans, and the original devs deserve.

In The Cover Art For This Remake, I Think They Were Tried To Recreate Frank About Throw A 📺 TV To A Horde Of Zombies But They Replace The TV With A Shopping Cart Full Of Weapons & You Can See Frank’s Legs Unlike The Original’s Box Art Which Are Blocked Off The Horde & Explosion.

I just realized, this version of Frank looks like he could've come from the 2005 era of Frank design. Like they looked at the E3 2005 to TGS 2005 and liked that era of face design for Frank, and made it more grounded, and went with that for this design.

welp, re3make was done by a frilance studio (with former capcom employees) and overall got rushed as fuck this already looks like a good 10 hours+ game like original and with nice mechanic additions that adds to the gameplay, not removing whole segments like re3make did

It was ultimately due to Capcom's priorities where they were initially gonna outsource and rush the real of the remakes until that received a ton of backlash and they realized M2 wouldn't be a remake machine at the rate they were rushing them.

Hmm, I hope I'm wrong, but the blood seems to have been significantly downgraded. In the original, when you hit a zombie with a bat, the blood trail in the air falls to the ground in a very satisfying way. In the footage shown above, it just disappears into thin air. I don't really care about the resolution of the textures, or things like that, if they are messing with the visuals that actually impact gameplay and feel, such as the blood. Gonna hold off on praising this one, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing more.

3:13 I see that they changed the gun symbol to a fist. Personally, I prefer this change. I didn’t notice the first time I was watching the DRDR stream. And yesterday, I was befuddled on why the symbol was a gun in the original if guns aren’t the most common in this game. When I think of Dead Rising weapons, I think of like- the 2 x 4 or guitars.
