Hi Mark. Looks like you had a really great shave. I’m glad you enjoyed the Pumpkin Spice 🎃 . Stirling is one of my favorite soaps. Glacial Lemon Chill is my favorite Stirling offering. (At the moment) Take care and stay safe.

Hi Scott. I hope you are having a good day. Glacial Lemon Chill, does sound very refreshing but it's one for the Summer, here. I like your 'at the moment' - that happens to me all the time. All the best.

Howdy Mark! Congratulations to Greg. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I don’t like boar brushes made up to look like badger brushes. A 24mm Omega Boar knot are my favorite. Great shave my friend and my best to you and your Mom. You should attempt to bake a pumpkin pie. You won’t be disappointed. Take care! 🤠
@FriendshipShaving3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, that is a pet hate of mine too, Bradley. I can never see the point of it, except to try and fool someone who doesn't know the difference. Omega boar - very nice. I do need pumpkin pie now, but one of the other fellows wrote that the ones we get over here are grown to be carved for Halloween and are not very nice to eat. Gutted!
@bradleycred993 жыл бұрын
@@FriendshipShaving 💯 % agree on the faux badger look. You don’t need a live pumpkin to make the pie. You should be able to buy pumpkin pie filler. We buy it in cans here in the states. If you can’t find it locally you could possibly order it online. Google recipes for all the ingredients.
@FriendshipShaving3 жыл бұрын
A live pumpkin 😂 You shoot them in Texas and put them in tins. I'll bet there are not many live ones left 😁 We don't get tinned pumpkin over here, Bradley. At least, I've never seen a tin in my life.
@bradleycred993 жыл бұрын
@@FriendshipShaving You need to request an audience with the Queen 👸🏻 and demand an end to this pumpkin pie filler embargo and go full on hunger strike if that works best. The eyes of Texas are upon you. 👀 🤠 🎃

Hey buddy. That sounds like a great shave - certainly a lovely razor! Gillette new how to make razors, didn't they? They went from one classic, straight to another and each someone seems to perfectly represent that era.

As it happens, I am particularly adept at baking pumpkin pies and very much enjoy the flavor! And, since I am the baker, I am not restricted to only the Fall season to enjoy a slice of ice cold pie with a dab of whipped cream on top-highly recommended for extremely hot summer days when Autumn seems like it's a 100 years away. Ironically, while you're correct that it is something of an American delicacy it also more popular in certain geographic regions. Where I reside, sweet potato pie is more common/popular and about a year ago I shocked a hardcore sweet potato pie consumer when I brought her a sample of pumpkin pie and it floored her. She couldn't get over the variety of tastes in the flavor and quite possibly the fact that I baked it. :D I told her, "it's all in the recipe and the ability to follow that recipe correctly." ;-) I think she said that she was 70 years old and had never tasted pumpkin pie before. So, it follows, I love the scent in any shaving product but I do think if used too often due to its scent strength user fatigue can set in. I use sparingly. As for your shaving bowl, I suggest giving it a scrub with a baking soda and vinegar solution. It can often get what bleach leaves behind. Good Luck.
@FriendshipShaving3 жыл бұрын
That is really interesting Keith. I have never even heard of a sweet potato pie: it's seems a strange idea to me. I'll have to look up a recipe for both, I think and get baking.Thank you for the advice about vinegar and baking soda. I'll need to get some white vinegar, rather than malt, but I will try it. Nice one.

I love pumpkin to bits, Mark. But I do know that I am an anomaly amongst Englishmen, most of whom have never had pumpkin. I had pumpkin for the first time in Australia when I was 17. When I was 18, in Telford, we had a neighbour who married an American girl, who would quite often make pumpkin soup and pie and offer them to neighbours, of whom I was the only one to accept her kind offer, with greedy joy. We eat a lot of asian green skinned pumpkins here in Thailand.

Lovely. I am keen to try it now, mate. I'd love a neighbour like that, it would be fantastic. She was obviously keen to share the cuisine of her homeland; what a nice woman.

Now I'm curious about that Stirling soap. I have the also american Sudsy Soapery Pumpkin Spice and in my opinion it is a great performer with a very nice scent. The description on Maggards mentions "undertones of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon" so I suppose it's close to the Stirling take on it.
@FriendshipShaving3 жыл бұрын
I imagine they must be quite close, from the description. I guess any difference would be in how much of those scents were added. I was looking for some images and saw a picture of pumpkin spice spam! It is pork and ham in a tin. awful.

Congratulations Greg and well done Mark very generous of you running this giveaway ! I’m glad you liked the pumpkin spice it’s definitely not one for every day wear but for a seasonal bit of fun it does smell quite nice. I hadn’t tried the soap myself not bought it long since but I did give it a try quite a few days ago and have to say I got the same thing a bit of a red colour on the neck it wasn’t sore or painful and not a reaction but just red skin..strange didn’t have that with the Christmas Eve and I didn’t realise that about the cinnamon that’s quite interesting I wonder if it’s because cinnamon is warming almost like the opposite to menthol hmmm 🤔 Excellent shave though and as always a pleasure to watch see you in the next one
@FriendshipShaving3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay. I enjoyed it mate. It was very different to anything else I have tried and very enjoyable. Yes, funny about the red face - it can only be the cinnamon. Thank you for that sample, mate. It added very nicely to the Stirling Mondays. 🤩
