Nice to see this technology be put to practical use, not just put on a shelf as an ornament. That said, it doesn't quite sound like it doesn't need any maintenance. Surely it could benefit from a bit of oiling and adjustment, and possibly some bearing and hose replacement.

This invention crys out to all technology experts showing how simple can be energy generation. When this Engine can grind wheat on one side and make dough or rice grinding on the other side begs to prove of how much energy it can produce with such worn out conditions. ONLY IF SOME ONE WITH MONEY can take this tech to build a sophisticated model and give some data as to how much heat energy was used to produce how much power. Also notice that Heat energy came from a bunch of wood branches (lying Free nearby).

Wow! A industrial use of a stirling engine! It is pretty quiet. I've seen some quiet designs out there. Too bad they don't have it attached to a alternator or some thing that produces power. There is still a lot of kenetic energy from each rotation that could be used for other things. (Such as a alternator/electric motor.)

So how does this operate? Heating a fluid within a sealed system until the it gets excited enough to push through the system?
@manobra20233 ай бұрын
Its the sterling cycle. Imagine that the air is like a fluid. It works by heating/expanding the air inside a chamber. There is a displacer, like a large loosely fitted piston, made out of something porous, light and fire proof. This moves back n forth making the air on the hot side expand as it also contracts on the colder sider, yea? This creates a blowing and sucking of the air with in. there is another, normal tight fitted piston or some kind of diaphragm on the cold side that pushes (power)a mechanism that makes the displacer plunge back n forth and turns the fly wheel. Its the momentum of the fly wheel that keeps the cycle going. so its a difference in temperature that makes this work. As the cool side slowly gets warmer the engine slows down requiring cooling. It can get quite complicated to manipulate this expansion and contraction but there are many examples of how this thermodynamic power can be harnessed.

some late info. this appears to be a horizontal beta config. the beta config has one drawback, it does not allow the degree of thermal isolation of the sides, that the other configs do. in the case of an htd stirling, engine operation should be optimized, for Speed. moving components should be as light as practical. high engine rpms should be Converted to (increased) torque potential, via the use of Reduction at the engine output; in other words, Mechanical Advantage (over the load). a Small radius drive pulley should be used. under load, engine speed should Not be too much reduced; say, ten to fifteen percent. at 5:31, small drive pulley not used. googletranslate

depends on where it is made, places which have a thriving cast iron industry could make it for a low cost. Places like Burma, India or Bangladesh. Is it a rhombic drive crank system.
@how2what44 жыл бұрын
it's not, the engine has to be fastened to a concrete base, if it had a rhombic drive it would be so well balanced it could be free standing. I think there was a desire to go in that direction with some engineers but the lack of funding in the 1980s for the project prevented this. The idea of this project started in the 1970's when the oil crisis was at its peak.

I was wondering about making Ultra Low Temperature Diferential Stirling Engines for houses. It shoud start at 0,1c, with 0,2MPa using Helium, 500 000 cc, with delta temparatures power shoud be: 1c-1,1kw, 2c-2,3kw, 4c-4,6kw, 8c-9,2kw, 10c-11,5kw . It Shoudnt be mutch expensive either, about 100 000cc(100L3!) for 1500$ !! Best Solution will be 1 000 000cc(1 000L)(12000$) 1m3 Double Boxer Engine (selfstarting) 3 cylinders 2displacers and one double-power piston . Great for heat pumps, Central Heating, geotermal, . First we need heat collectors for spring and summer , one headsink in glas on roof for high temp ( 50-100c) and we dig a well for low temps (under 10m constant 10celsius). For Winter Situation is diffriend because well(10c) is the heat source and the air is low temp. Or you can plug stirling between your heat source at home and heatsinks in it. Key is to have bufor because you can keep warm warter from solar collector or else over night to power your house continuesly. What do you think about idea, power and prices ?
