You spent so much time on details... and built a great example of a S & G canoe... thanks. I would have loved to see a launch day and see it on the water being paddled around.

Building the same one, your video makes it look easy. It is taking me a long time. Have it stiched and about to glass the outside
@familyolney4107 Жыл бұрын
Yes, it took us a while. We didn’t even show the part where it was outside and got lifted off the trestles in high winds and dropped onto its keel, slightly splitting some of the centre joints! The repair actually made it a lot stronger. Good luck with your boat!

Thanks for the video. She came out great. How well does she row - stability wise? Maybe I missed it but you did not sheath her in fiber glass cloth? Is 4mm thick enough or would you use 6mm if you built again? I am considering building the Wren in 6mm. My son built the Raven but the floor does flex a bit - that was 5.7mm ply.

Where can I get a set of plans for the boat you built?
@hmpeter Жыл бұрын
What a lovely boat! What material did you laminate the outer stems of - looks like thin wooden strips? If yes, do you recall how thick the strips were? Seems like they bend quite easily. Thanks!

Great build and lovely boat - have built one of these with overlap planks this past year. Having trouble figuring out where the seat positions should be for two people. Can you post the distance of your seats from mid-point please?
@familyolney41073 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, we positioned the bow seat approximately 830mm (32.5”) from centre of canoe to seat centre and about 100mm (3.75”) down from the gunwale. The stern seat was positioned 1515mm (59.6”) centre point to centre of seat, and about 140mm (5.5”) down from the gunwale. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe as we have other projects in the pipeline. Good luck with your boat.

How much doess it weigh?
@familyolney41072 жыл бұрын
I couldn't say exactly but would estimate between 30 and 40 kilos. It takes two of us to get it onto the roof of the van.
