Use one of the foam noodles that the canvases come wrapped in to roll up the back part of the canvas and center it between the two foam pads of the lap desk. Attach with duct tape or clips. Works wonders that way.

I'm just a beginner but I already had something similar in a small drawing board. I use it on top of a small camping table as I do ALL my painting in bed as I suffer from chronic pain. I don't yet have a lightboard (it's on it's way from Wish.com) and instead of the sticky pad I just used a wedge of blue tack on the shelf part to make the tray stay upright! I think it's a lot about what works for you and just trying out different things to see what is comfortable!!

Love the tilted lap pad. I was wondering how the beads stay in the tray that you stuck to the project....by the way, how did you stick the tray.

I have it tilted just enough that the diamonds don't fall out. And I used a sticky bead mat to stick the tray to the diamond painting.

I purchased something similar to this at the same price from Amazon, however, it did not have the padded underside and the adjustability was not as high. I think I will go ahead and purchase this one. It looks a lot more comfortable to use. Thanks for sharing.

I have a lap desk and decided to use the Velcro trick to attach it so it wouldn’t slide around. I attempted to take it off to use on something else and it seems like it’s pulling the light pad apart! I just wondered if you had taken yours off & if you had any issues? Thanks so much for all of the work that you put into your channel, I truly enjoy it so much & look forward to your videos!!

Chanda Owen I have taken the velcro off and I am very careful in taking it off. I actually just bought smaller velcro dots and am going to try them on my light pad for my lap desk.

Wow that looks awesome!! I do all mine at a large drafting table and it DOES kill my back. Unfortunately all mine diamond paintings that I do are large, most being 60 x 80 so they wouldn’t work on this. Would be great to be able to do them in my recliner though. Thank you for sharing.

What about sticking a piece of that Loctite Fun Tak in the adjustable spaces then put it up to the size you like? It might keep it from accidentally moving out of place.

Thank you so much for this! For years I've loved to crochet in bed as a way to relax before going to sleep. Then I broke my finger and can't crochet anymore (I can but it takes 10 times longer to finish anything). I discovered diamond painting and thought it would be fun but really wished there was a way to do it in bed as a form of relaxation...and now it looks as though I can! I already ordered some kits from amazon; looks like I just need a tilted desk and a bead buddy mat. Do you ever put the diamond things right on the mat so they won't roll away, or do you find sticking the tray on the mat is good enough (I'm a klutz and can imagine myself moving the wrong way and having to pick up diamonds from the bed, lol).

How large is the project you had on there? It looks like you’re creasing the canvas when you roll it and put it underneath? I’m interested in this but want to know your experience over time when you get to the lower part of the canvas.

It was a 30 by 45. I just finished a 30 by 40 using that lap desk and had no problems with the canvas being creased.

Handy! 👌😲 First of all, I get you with the back problem, I started DP because I normally lay down but need to train myself to sit again. And second of all, why don't you have the likes enabled? Thanks so much for this! Due to chronic pain I can’t sit leaning over a table so I was looking for something I could use for my lap while I’m in my chair or recliner and this fits the bill.
