That is awesome! I have to believe there are more photos though… no floorlength ones? None from the dressmakers ball? Is there a photo montage coming soon? Just living vicariously, how often does a girl get to wear a ball gown?!?! Just curious, as I felt like you posted a lot more of the Marilyn dress.

You are absolutely gorgeous and you remind me ever so slightly of Claire Foy in 'The Crown' (also, wonderful job on the dress!)

Just wow!! All that work and attention to detail! It looks amazing and amazing on you too!! I have a cross stitch piece that my sister made me and it is so true!! It goes like this, "As you sew, so shall ye rip" I look at it when I'm sewing and boy have I done my share of ripping. I have sewn for over 40 years now and I still enjoy it and yes I do have to take things out still. It's part of the therapy? of sewing : ))

Congratulations, it's a beautiful gown! I've been sewing for many years and it is such a thrill when things turn out (even if getting there is a bit arduous.) I made my sister's wedding gown and her bodice was ruched. I had cut the bodice overlay on the bias and the ruching happened naturally with me only having it tack it here and there. It's a great technique.

Your attention to detail is amazing - yes it does look like the original suit. Another iconic suit would be the pink Channel suit from Legally Blonde, It was a turning point for me when I finally realised that Channel could be trendy not frumpy!

I absolutely love this video and think it is your best ever. The creativity of making the dress is marvelous, fascinating, and awe inspiring. The layer of creativity in the video itself is wonderful. The show and tell combined with the whimsy of the music you used. I could watch this video over and over because of the layers of artistry. Kudos to you and that incredible dress!

A dress to be proud of. You have really achieved the objectives you set yourself last year. Your slow, thoughtful sewing must be so much more rewarding than just churning things out as fast as possible. I hope you get to wear it again but if not perhaps you could hire it out. In fact I see a new career for you. Two famous dresses down, many more to follow I hope.

I just discovered your channel and I love it! I am a kindred spirit in that I also love hand /couture finishes-I'm also improving my finishes with each garment I sew. I love this series of recreating famous dresses! You are so talented and inspirational. Do your ever use the draping approach, rather than flat pattern drafting? I'd love to see you recreate a vintage 1950s Dior gown! :) Thanks for the videos!

Greetings from Boston USA You are amazing. Don't know what else to say. I am not sure which I like best, the Marilyn or Julia. Guess it will have to be both. You really do take on a challenge and dive right into it. Not sure if amazing is the correct word for you however I can't think of a better one to use. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to your next project. ✂️👚👗👍

Indeed, let's not dwell on mistakes. I do it too often, always have. When I was in the school band, I was always getting down on myself, unable to take a compliment after a concert, because I knew I or others had made mistakes. Eventually I got over it and started accepting the compliments. When I started sewing, I was so critical, but one day my mom just said to me "Look, I don't have the score, but it sounded good to me." Was a great reminder. No one knows how it is supposed to sound, to look. But they still found it moving & beautiful, so why "correct" them?
