I would agree. Usually people account for a 15% drivetrain loss which would put the factory 460 BHP around 390 WHP. Overall it still gained about 60WHP which isn’t bad gains for a N/A engine.

@@StefBelgium because it was down in power to start with. It should have made around 390 but it was making less. Most base c7 make 390. So the tune gave it back if factory power and then some. Which was most probably caused by upgrades not being tuned.

stingray z51 normally come tuned for 460 hp already, so, i am confused- i have a 2015 corvette stingray z51, and have had it dyno'd, and it comes up at 467 hp @6k rpm, and 465 torq @4300rpm... is there room for more without heavy mods?

That’s 460 hp at the crank, normally they make around 370-390whp so if you made 467whp that’s already prettt good

😂😂😂 you must not know anything about cars and engines. It's 460 to the crank so you will definitely lose 10 to 20 percent on a dyno. So if your car is making that means you must have modifications done cause that is impossible 😂😂😂💀🤡🤡

I know this is an old vid but thought it stood out that this LT3 made 353whp WITH BOLTONs. That's like a 20% power loss between the crank and the wheels, as the LT3 should be 460bhp with the factory upgraded exhaust? That's almost as bad as the Hellcats 25% loss. I love both cars, I just find drivetrain loss/efficiency super interesting. Awesome work and results gentlemen!

This shop is the worst. Stock cars make 10-12% lower when you arrive and magically make the most power ever from a cai and tune only car when you leave. There is a reason this shop and channel failed and gets almost no views now. It was only relevant cause 2 big KZbinrs used this shop until they learned what was going on.

@@bobshowup2501 Any time you see a car on a dyno (and not just an engine minus the car)... its wheel hp. The stock z51 makes 400-405 hp at the wheel stock, 455hp at the crank. His car wasnt exactly 'stock' though. Header, straight pipe and CAI is not 'stock'... but the guy still did a nice job with the tune. And yes, GM leaves a lot on the table for reliability and fuel economy.

I can t believe he gained 90 WHP tuning an NA engine. Especially in a simple ⛺️ with no forced ventilation. Big V8 are known to heat quickly, especially a Corvette C7, and this degrades the number on a dyno. There is something off.....unless the guy did mods without retuning its car which explains why the WHP are low before the tune and higher than stock C7 after the tune.

Hi there, I have a 2016 Stingray Z51, which chip is a good plug and play you'd suggest that has great quality and best reviews? I've seen some that will get it from 460hp to 500hp but I'm still a little skeptical on those that run about $250 only. Would love your input. Everything else on the car is stock and only has about 5k miles on the car as well. It's the 7speed manual trans.

U can’t get almost 100hp from a tune, the reason why u got that much is for a simple reason, the costumer got exhaust sys on his c7, when he got it he needed a tune after and did a straight pipe to and cat delete, WELL, when U do this to a stock car, guess what ? U loose horse power automatically, there is no back pressure and again the costumer never got it tuned right after that, thus loosing 45hp right off the top, give or take, the hp on. A stock c7 stingray is right at 485-490’s range, so the tune u gave got approximately 35hp or less thus making up the loss hp from the exhaust sys he done prior, making it seem like it was 88-90hp, GM did not make a mistake on its hp lowering that cars tune, but it’s cool that u got the loss up back up again , thinking it’s 88-90hp in total, so all and all, don’t do cat delete or any exhaust upgrade without a tune, u will loose up because of no back pressure, but it will sound good thinking it’s faster, that’s not the point, don’t make a good sound if u are gonna loose hp, but u are the best I’ve seen on a Dyno, But wanted to share this with u and all your followers , please some one correct me if I am wrong here Ty

Thank god streetspeed and guitarcamaro stopped using this hack job shop… they lower numbers when you get there and then tell you that you gained all This power when in reality you gained barely any or normal Horsepower… this is the oldest truck in the book. I can show customers 300hp stock on a corvette and when it leaves show 500 off a tune only… it’s manipulative and shady and no wonder why this shop is either shut down or has no customers anymore.. 👎🏼
