A well bedded in engine will always be faster than a newer engine , I've had my n54 for over 12 yrs and I swear it just gets faster with age .

Loving my 2007 6spd manual 335i Sedan (first BMW) so learning and working on doing MHD flash, but believe in ‘maintenance before mods’ so pacing myself with minor tweaks here and there. Thanks for the great channel & congrats on your success.

i love my n54 335i and yes i spend money on fixing its issues but its the risk i took for what its worth. its blast to drive and now that i have pure turbo it is beast now.

I’ve had my ‘07 335i since it left the factory. 173k miles on it now and JB4 added around 130k. Funny thing is that I run it in Map 0 (stock mode) about 70% of the time. Power is so much more linear....I guess I just got so used to the power delivery over the past 12 years that a JB4 feels awkward. Feels almost perfect when stock!

Get a back end flash. You can also adjust the power delivery to more linear feel, like stock with jb4 (adjust setting 12 on jb4 I believe).

Absolutely in love with my e92 335i. Mhd stage 1 with a charge pipe and intakes give it that little extra pull I was looking for. I get compliments all the time. and yes they can be tough in terms of maintenance but if you know what you're doing and don't take it to BMW you can save tons of money and it's actually affordable. Highly recommended. Great video as always!

Don’t Buy one my uncle just bought one 2011 with 70k miles already dropped 2k in to it from shit breaking down.... I bought a G37s just a recommendation way more reliable and faster than the 335i.

If you get extended warranty you’ll be fine 8 months of ownership and I only had to change my valve cover, and oil pan gasket so far lol maintenance over mods for sure! Coils and plugs are a must

Most people say it’s too expensive to maintain are the same people taking it to the dealership for a simple oil change most maintenance stuff you can tackle yourself and if it’s too complex take it to a mechanic that knows these cars never the dealer unless you have warranty

Added a Wavetrac LSD to my '07 6 speed 335i, now with Dinan Stage 2 chip and suspension, and with Dinan's cold air intake. All low stress, reliable mods that I think make a great car even better.

@@kaelanburke2097 Yes, it works very well. Quiet and unobtrusive. I live in SF, and a little moisture on the hills was frequently kicking in the DTC, but now it just pulls straight and steady. Under hard acceleration, there is no lateral pull. I had Phaedrus, a local BMW shop install it, and the Wavetrac people were great with installation guidance.

Kind of weird that BMW's first Turbo engine was the N54, and it was a monster from the beginning.

They've made turbo engines wayyy before this, but this was their first consumer based engine.

I have the same car. 2010 xdrive manual coupe. I'm having a vacuum leak. Can't seem to figure it out yet. The car feels a bit slower too. Any advice.?

Couple of questions: is it bad to do a clutchless start? Can I hold the car on a hill with just the clutch? And is it okay to ride the clutch to make shifts smoother without jumping? I want to maintain my clutch properly. I have great clutch control but idk if its actually damaging it.
