Pro tip, weight the edges of the pool attach a shop vac to one point tape that point off really well and suck the wrinkles out. That's how we install liners on big pools. What you did here was a great job and this isn't criticism of that but rather a suggestion for anyone who wants to do this themselves.

I hope that makes sense. If so please let me know we are looking for something like that.

I used to go to a home daycare and the lady who ran it had a stock tank pool out back for us to swim in. She didn't have liners or paint on the inside. It didn't have a filter or a pump. It was a lot of fun. I used to wonder why no one else had one. I thought it was just a pool but I never saw other pools that looked like it. Now I realize it was a metal stock tank.

Beautiful job! . I think the reason the flex seal didnt stick may be because it is made for metal roofing to seal seams, and screw holes. The fact that you were using it to cover a solid sheet of metal with maybe one seam up the side possibly is what caused the flaking. I think that using the pool liner was absolutley fabulous! Love that you used the Bamboo to hide the liner on the exterior. Makes it have the natural appearance to it! Great Job! ❤️

Julia Konya 2 weeks ago We didn't have to pay for rocks since we had them in the yard already. The stock tank is around $400, the pump around $160, liner around $100, bamboo depends on where you live and shipping... I have direct links to it all in my blog post with the exact current prices cuckoo4design.com/our-new-stock-tank-swimming-pool-in-our-sloped-yard/
@doesnotFempute3 жыл бұрын
We are currently setting up our stock tank pool. We updated for a blue poly (plastic) tank so no need for liner. It was $409 at tractor supply. I bought a quickset pool (kind with the inflatable ring) from Walmart for $59 which comes with the filter pump. I'm going to sell the pool piece and get some of that money back. I bought a skimmer for $10 and am going to buy a handheld pool vacuum from Lowe's for $25. I'm using a "small pool opening kit" for chemicals which is about $30. We already had all tools and didn't need to buy or rent anything to set up. Everything else will just be cosmetic, such as building a deck, fashioning a pool cover (necessary in the southern US summer bug swarms) and an enclosure for the filter pump (going to use an altered rubbermaid bin). A chunk of money to set up, but in my opinion, more practical and better value than having an above ground pool installed.

Hi Julia,Thank you so much for inspiring me with your beautiful pool. Yours is my favorite! I am going to or attempting right now to get all the parts. I have a very specific question. I did order the same pump you have and I am about to order the replacement kit with parts to connect to pool but I am confused as to why you have ordered the larger extra plunger valve? I looked up the model number of the plunger valve which comes with kit which is 10747 on amazon and the one you said to buy is another kind but doesn't say model number. I just want to make sure the one you recommended which is labeled as large plunger valve that it does fit as the description says otherwise. Thank you for your help and looking forward to more of your projects which I am enjoying.
@juliakonya72664 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I bought the other one because it was recommended in another blog post. The one that comes with the kit is odd and you can't screw it on the way you can with the one I have. Not sure if it would also work or not.
@blackrobinstudios68304 жыл бұрын
Thank you Julia for writing back! Ok so the large one will fit? I just got my pump and so now I can at least get my hands in and figure things out. I will order the large one since it worked for you. As well as the rest. I have been sending your video to all of my friends! It is by far the coziest stock tank pool! The liner is now unavailable. I do like it on your pool. How are you liking it?? Is it holding up well? THanks again!
@juliakonya72664 жыл бұрын
@@blackrobinstudios6830 I think other 8 foot liners will probably work as well. What size is the stock tank and how deep?
@TheRainHarvester4 жыл бұрын
I read your request about clips. Maybe pvc pipe cut in 2" lengths. Then cut length wise. This will make a letter C. Push them over the edge. Might need to widen the length wise cut. Is the liner just for cosmetics? Would a big blue rain tank with its top cut off work better? (I'm thinking it wouldn't rust, and it is already the color of a liner.)
@juliakonya72664 жыл бұрын
We actually don't even need the clips after all. The rocks have been doing a great job keeping the liner in place. We can't have a plastic tub because it isn't sturdy enough to withstand the hill and rocks. We had to go with metal which is why we need the liner :)
