Picking one of these up this week. My local hobby shop is 60 miles and I drove down there just to look and have him explain things since I've been out of the hobby for 20 years. I can't believe how things have changed since the late 90s! Especially battery technology. I wish I had taken enough money today. Making the trip probably Thursday

Right-on 066motocross...enjoy! : ) Yeah, I know what you mean...they have come a long ways. I did the same thing, took a break for a while and then couldn't believe what I came back to...and I haven't looked back so be careful, the upgrades are endless! lol

The only thing i think traxxas needs to do is to relocate the body clips to the chassis. It is a beautiful body and performance. Great video. Thank You!!

Good call zZz. I also wish they didn't combine the panhard mount with the plastic fender well. I really like the scale look of the fender wells and the rock lights. I'll run it that way until the panhard bar mount fails and then we'll loose the fender wells and go with the aluminum shock towers. Thanks for watching! Until next time...Happy Trails. : )

I've had mine for a couple weeks now and i changed out the wheels and tires for aluminum beadlocks and Interco IROKS and added wheel weights/ brake discs and it made a big difference. I have noticed a lot of heat build up in the Traxxas motor under long hard crawling so when it gives out i think the Holmes crawlmaster 27t will be a good replacement. For looks i added the Tough Armor winch front bumper and RC4WD winch and on the rear the Tough Armor Attack bumper and RC4WD shackles on both. Looks really good in my opinion. I'll be watching for further videos with any mods you do to the Blazer.

Right-on Tony...nice work, sounds like a great build start. Let me know if you through a video up of it. I'm in the middle of rebuilding mine. Haven't figured out what I'm going to do for bumpers yet...most are sold out! : ( I think I'm just going to trick this one out as more of a shelf queen and then I was thinking about getting a sport and building a real crawler out of it (mainly because I have so many extra parts). lol I'm going to try out the Castle Creations Maba X with the HH Puller Pro V2 540 2200kv and see if it can hang with the HobbyWing AXE 2300 combo. Great hearing from you Tony, till next time...Happy Trails! : )

I ordered mine yesterday and most of the pics of it show it with hole shot looking wheels but the description says it comes with rally wheels. Wich wheels did yours come with? I like the rally wheels better. Don't care for the hole shots much. But have some nice bead locks to throw on it if it doesn't come with the rally wheels.
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jamie...nice. The Black Edition comes stock with the hole slotes. I feel the same way, so I threw on a set of the stock rally wheels so I could still say it was stock. RC4WD has a nice set of steel Chevy Rally wheels. I really like the Boom Racing Probuild wheels with the clear centers like on some of my other builds. I'm in the process of building mine up right now, wait till you see what I'm doing to this thing! 😉

I'm really impressed with how straight the plastic body is.... looks like suspension / tires need to be softened up, also it needs your magic touch customizing the Blaze :-) Can't wait to see it finished

What do you like better this or the gen8 axe?
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Hey Frankie...that's a pretty tough call, but overall capability wise I would half to give a slight edge to the Redcat Gen8 Axe. The Traxxas TRX-4 has some great options and more features out of the box, but for stock capability wise, the HobbyWing Axe system takes the win. Looks wise...I'd say pretty even, the Blazer looks killer, but the Axe looks great and has the interior. Value wise is pretty even...TRX-4 has the locking diffs and 2 speed transmission, the Axe has the HobbyWing Axe system and the FlySky GT5. (The Axe probably slightly takes that one with the FlySky GT5 transmitter and 6 channel receiver, HobbyWing Axe system and the Reefs 422 steering servo, but the TRX-4 performs well in those areas so it's still close.) And I would give a slight edge in capability to the Axe because of the motor/ESC combo. The front steering geometry isn't as good on the Axe, but you don't really notice it when crawling. Sooo...that's why I would give the Redcat Gen8 Axe Edition a slight edge in being better, stock out of the box. (In my opinion of course.) Which one do I like better? That remains to be seen. 🤣
