I was thinking on that landing you like to load stuff from your tractor should make it a gate . Take 2x4s top bottom and both sides make a box with hinges on either side lol your choice and run your wire in that box then when you need it can open it like agate just a thought .. have a great New Year.

Hello to one of my favorite channels! I actually watched this video yesterday, but, your title got me to thinking. Yes, I honestly was expecting much more of the stocking up part. Living where you do, and as much snow, and rain for that matter, Sometimes it makes no sense trying to get to town. For even on a good day, it takes a good portion of your day to do so, add in sloppy roads from rain and even snow, it just doesn't make good sense to do it, or even try. So, You need to stock up even more food stuff, and even toiletries and so on. A good store of freeze dried foods, and canned goods, is a very much needed addition. There's a lot of decent quality foods out there, with long storage, that can and will keep you home, without having to do without! And add in toilet paper, paper towels, fuel, toothpaste and so on. And you can and will be very comfortable for weeks, heck, for months if it was called for. So, 1.Get the dang pantry finished, and 2. Figure out alternative storage places. And that will be much easier when you finish the "basement" of your home. So get to getting that done. IMO more important than getting the siding done.With all that "scrap" wood you have, some temp shelves will be pretty easy, esp storing freeze dried foods. I wouldn't store can goods (freeze issues), or paper goods(mice issues) unless you have that stuff in mice proof containers. Just some thoughts

I buy meats 6 months at a time, but because I live alone, I portion into single servings, then freeze. I cook the menu for the entire month and portion cooked meats and fresh steamed / frozen veggies. It saves so much money not just for buying in bulk, but cooking time and energy. Buying sugar, flour, rice and pasta's in bulk and keeping in labeled air tight 35oz. non dairy coffee creamer containers. I cook bacon in microwave with paper towels, mince and store in empty Parnassian / Romano cheese containers to add to all my dishes. Making my own brown sugar saves a lot of money too. 2 cups of sugar + 3tbsp. unsulphured molasses, whisk, then keep in air tight container. Save the flavor packets from Raman to lightly coat chicken breasts before baking in place of Adobo if you run out. Filet chicken breasts, lightly sprinkle Adobo, cover & bake 350 degrees for1hr., drain, remove foil cover, flip, lightly coat with Mayo (dab with fork) and sprinkle with Parnassian cheese & bake additionally 10 minutes. Baked Adobo chicken is great for fajitas, cubed for salads, shredded / pulled for chicken salad spread, omelets & even pizza. Bon apatite.
