Hey I love you guys I just wanted to give you some constructive criticism that might help you in the future I've been doing construction for over 30 years and I wanted to give you some advice on your handrails. The top rail is going to warp in due time it needs a under board positioned in a strength mode to keep it from warping through the center and a deck board on the very top of your existing rail this way you will have three strong substances top and bottom on your existing plate I build rails and I've had them to last for years and years to come it also looks a little more beefier this way on the top and doesn't look like it's still in construction mode . You guys are doing a wonderful job please use this information as being helpful and not negative

Some Tarps may work better if that house wrap fails to keep the garage door openings covered

I hope you remembered to lay caution gas line tape over the propane pipe as well as a layer of gravel. This way if you ever dig there again you will find that before you hit the propane line. When I lay anything underground I take precise measurements out and down from a set location (like the corner of the house). Also, putting firewood in the house will allow any termites that are in the wood to migrate and start feeding on your house. I would build a nearby woodshed as soon as possible.

You should screw another board on the inside to hold the house wrap on the garage doors. Wind will take out staples. 😊

Hi guys, lovin' the build. Note:- regarding the Butcher Block shelf in the Pantry, I would still caulk it, even if you do put 1/4 Round over it, just to remove a potential hidey-hole for lil' critters [roaches et al] Loving your vids and I hope all goes well with your temporary garage doors. Greetings from sunny West Australia, no snow expected here, it's been 32°C here today. Hi you two, I can't fault what you are doing on your house build. As you have explained before you don't have that much experience on some of the jobs you tackle. and you still make a good job of it. So if you don't mind can I give you a good suggestion on your shelving, it would make your life easier, might be too late for your Pantry, but any other shelves you might be thinking of in the future. Looks great Nick. I would not worry about the small gap on the top shelf for two reasons. 1) it's immediately behind entrance and shielded by the wall 2) once things are on the shelf it will visually take your eye away from clear unbroken view when it's empty. Just my 2¢ Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

Pantry is turning out nice. to be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about the gaps on either end of the butcher block, id anything, I find the smallest wood corner or shoe molding and glue it into place. I this case I think les is better(ecstatically)

Love you guys your work is awesome I wanted to give you some constructive criticism on your handrails I specialize in handrails for over 30 years you're going to need a top plate and a bottom plate on the existing top board that you have on your rails if not it's going to warp up and down . The board that you have positioned on the bottom of the rail at the foot side you need one more underneath the upside on the top existing board then put a deck board on the top of your existing board there that way you've got a total of three strengthening patterns patterns and it will look more beefy, just use this as constructive criticism

I would not bother with trimming that shorted shelf. Do you not have any cut-off pieces? Just cut a section to the width you need and then use Titebond wood glue and sand it smooth to match the rest of the shelf. You will never see it and the shelf will be tight to the wall.

I believe the boards used to build floors, walls ,stairs, etc are called "LUMBER", the round pieces of cut trees and other scrap lumber used to "burn" in a wood stove are called "WOOD"or"FIRE WOOD"
