You'll get there. One foot in front of another. Everyone is having weird weather. I guess we're just going to have to adjust and deal with it. Put 3 walls on your woodshed with a partial 4th for access, with the slats 2-3 inches apart for ventilation. They will hold the wood in & let the wood dry more. Hopefully you can find some larger standing dead to cut yourself in the future & save some $. Definitely going to need a larger shed to hold more wood to get you through the winter. Girdle a few larger trees in the spring or ASAP to give them time to die & dry out for a season or 2 & leave them standing so they won't rot on the ground. Needless to say, hard woods are preferable. I realize this was posted 7 months ago but in conditions you've moved to, firewood should be on your minds all year. Been there, done that. Nothing more important other than water & food if you're going to survive up there. Gotta turn the pork chops. Have a great day 😊.

Just found your channel from the suggestions list. You two are the real deal. Hard workers. I'm a little confused on why your driveway is in the state it is but I'm going back to watch the older videos and get caught up. I like seeing channels that are actually homesteading vs all these city folks moving up there and just buying all the equipment or hiring all the chores out. I want to do this same thing but I was starting to think if you're not rich it can't be done. Looks like you've relit the fire under my dream. Great video.

Maybe in a few years, you will have a little better time at getting the winter wood supply? It was nice to hear your son getting his goals started. Back in he 1960's, I grew up in eastern Oklahoma, my parents started their homestead of about 3 acres, with the out-house, when I went to college in fall of 1970, they finally got indoor plumbing.
