We make about 250k a year in our household....we have probably 10 packs of both Costco brand toilet paper and paper towels stocked back which I think is a prudent prep. Of course we have food stocked up and did long before CVD. I have been a "prepper" since I was probably 20 years old, now almost 36. But the best prep is putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ!

Just a reminder for folks reading the comments…please, please, please do not use the PEPPERMINT Castile soap on sensitive parts of your body like the eyes and private areas. If you do use the peppermint soap to wash your hair, take great care in avoiding your eyes. Castile soap is very gentle but the added peppermint essential oil will sting like crazy on your delicate areas. You’ll feel like you just washed with jalapeño soap and it won’t stop burning for a while. 😅 I still do use peppermint castile soap but I just don’t use it in the bath or the shower anymore because my experience was so painful and I don’t want to risk going through that again. 😁

I would love to get these recipes too because it's a whole lot easier to make it yourself to me because at least you know what's going in there I do not think that they always put everything on the label. So I utilized the phrase that I learned before I left home but also while I was in the military: Stay Alert Stay Alive Touch it constantly makes me pay attention to what's going on wherever I'm at grocery store home walking a trail Lowe's Home Depot wherever I go I try and remember this.

I’m glad you emphasized that most store bought soap is garbage! I am a professional soap maker. It’s nice to see that some people realize this! Stuff in the store is actually categorized as detergent, not soap. Btw I make 20 pounds of soap by hand almost everyday. 😄

Regarding the toilet paper hoarding - since so many people were no longer leaving the house to go to work or school, they were naturally using their own paper, not their employer's or school's paper! There were hoarders to be sure, but a lot of folks simply needed more paper on a daily basis for an extended period of time which led to a shortage which led to hoarding, a vicious cycle.

I just wanna point out that when you use the Castile soap for shampoo it’s a 1 to 10 ratio with water and the rinse for vinegar is half water half vinegar. That’s all I’ve used for about six years and it works really well.

Just as another possible way to help with bee stings, my family( back to my great great great grandparents in Mexico) have used a frws cut onion. Not a big cut is needed just a small cut and put the fresh cut side on the sting. It reduces inflammation and pain almost immediately and the onion pulls out the venom. Just a different but effective way to help with out chemicals.

I bought a bidet like 4 or 5 years ago. At the time I spent around $100, not a bidet toilet, just a bidet attachment to your toilet. It gets you super clean. Haven't spent a dime on toilet paper in a very long time. Will never go back. I also buy the same towels at Walmart, around $3 for a huge pack of hand towels that I use instead of paper towels. The only paper I use is newspaper combined with vinegar to clean the windows and it's free from my neighbor. Love your channel, love the content. So informative.

Ok, maybe I shouldn’t share this but the reusable sanitary products reminded me of when my Mom born in 1921 so you get the era I’m speaking of told me how they did things in her day. They used rags for that time of the month and then soaked them in a bucket of water to clean them then Grandma used that water to water her flowers, never on vegetable garden or edible plants but just on the flowers. I don’t know if that really had a nutritional value for the flower beds but that’s how they did things at that time, mom grew up in Rushville Illinois.

@@grandmashomemade9204 I cloth diapered my kids, and used reusable wipes with them. I figure it isn’t really any different. Except I had a diaper pail in their room! Lol I will keep my eyes open for something similar to use. I know some people just use bidets, but I don’t know that it would get everything clean. Lol

Note you can also put vinegar in your washing machine like a cup when you do your towels it makes towels softer and no nothing will smell like vinegar once it goes through the dryer

Before my TBI/SCI I ran a house keeping company and used a similar formula. General cleaner/ degreaser was ammonia based. I would make a 10x and dilute as needed. My window cleaner was vinegar and rubbing alcohol based, then I scrubbed with soda. Shop and bus rags with a few green scrub pads (easiest to rinse out baking soda), a good vacuum, and a scraping blade rounded out the kit. I live in the maritime pac NW and our window sils mold in the winter, hence the glass cleaner being Iso based. Castile soap is our base, but I do have Dawn because fleas on my service dog. We have a 20# tub of borax. Need to get washing soda. As soon as we get from our temporary home to our permenant one, I will start making soap again. Otherwise I use Dr Bronners.

So excited to watch chicken video, im looking at doing that this this upcoming season so im trying to learn how to raise them and butchering. We already have hens for eggs but mest is a different ball game :). I am hoping my neighbors are going to do this again because she said we can work together since she and I can't (sensitive to life) do the butchering but once its life force is gone then we can do the next things like cutting uo, defesthering and packaging ;).. thank goodness for husbands! Oh and we live smack dab in a city, our neighbirhood is a county island in the middle of a 400,000 human city. So call your local zoning place because you never know what you can do in your area, we did this when we bought this house because I wanted chickens, and this house was needed and perfect for its specific outlay and in law unit that was attached.

Yes the frenzied of papergoods... you CANNOT get nutrition from TP.. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I thought the same, people had carts and things of TP but no food, hello weirdos!!!! Our family was lucky as we have a great room pantry and were listening to friends overseas and that little voice. So a month before frenzies we gathered a few extras and sat back watching the crazies.. so blessed to have a pantry ;) oh and we did buy a bidet this year, it was under 50$ and we love it, the eldest 18 year old won't touch it, but youngest 7 and us old parents love it!!!

But so far its great. I also use to make homemade and never had issuees however back then we were on city sewage and top loader washers soooooo havent tried it yet and may also only do in and emergency.
