For the record, always take Indian media with a grain of salt. A lot of them have biases. Also, Khalistanis are tatgeted in India, not the average sikh. Many Sikhs are major parts of the government in India, including in the Ruling and controversial BJP. A lot of this is violence WITHIN the Khalistani movement because they're all decentralized. And then there are guys like Lawrence Bishnoi who has been successful in taking out major players throughout India, including high ranking celebs like Sidhu Moose Wala.

Well, this is exactly why I think using the term “Indian” to refer to the native/indigenous peoples of the Americas is just not convenient or useful. Whenever anyone says “Indian” I have to follow up and ask them which “Indians” they’re talking about.
