STOL CH 750 Super Duty: Demo Flight

Demo flight in the STOL CH750SD at the Zenith Aircraft kit factory.
The CH750SD is equipped with a 205-hp IO-375 engine (with three-blade Cato prop) and the repositionable Avilution UnPanel inside the roomy cabin.
The STOL CH 750 Super Duty is the latest model in the Zenith high-wing lineup. The resemblance between the STOL CH 750 Super Duty (SD) and the original STOL CH 750 light-sport aircraft is obvious, but the Super Duty offers increased useful load, the addition of a jump seat in the big rear cabin area, and more powerful engine choices for maximum short take-off and landing (STOL) capability. The design features fixed wing leading-edge slats, full-length flaperons (for excellent control at slow flight), big tires for off-airport operations, and effective rudder and elevator to allow for slow flight operations. The roomy cabin provides easy access from both sides and amazing visibility from the wrap-around windows and bubble doors.

OMG, that little boy just made my day! I thought for sure he'd be sleeping before the first round was done. I use to put my babies on my Honda Goldwing and they would pass right out. Of course I had a special seat belt system for them I had made in the day. They weren't going anywhere and slept like a baby should. Colicky baby at that.

been lusting after this plane for a while. Is the 170-200hp level required for this airframe? I was thinking about dropping a Rotax 912is into it, but it only has about 100hp

We recommend the standard STOL CH 750 for the 100-hp Rotax 912iS engine, which is an excellent engine for this airframe: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqu3mpiMZaqpibs The CH750 Super Duty is made to carry more (with larger wing and tail sections) which does require some more power. The Rotax 915 could be a good choice for the 750SD model

only issue I forsee with rotary's is the fuel burn; they're pretty inefficient without a turbo
