Officer’s Report:
Charges:
Fleeing (F)
Theft by Receiving (F)
Unauthorized Use of Another’s Property (F)
Aggravated Assault (F)
Obstructing Governmental Operations
Criminal Mischief
Defective Tail Lamp
Reckless Driving
No Seatbelt
On Thursday, December 14, 2023, at approximately 9:15 P.M, I noticed a dark colored GMC Yukon traveling westbound on
Wedington Drive. Earlier in the day I had received information from Washington County Deputies that a vehicle matching this
description bearing ARVL ATI46T had possibly been involved in multiple mail thefts throughout the county and had fled from
other law enforcement agencies. The vehicle was also reported stolen out of the Springdale Police Department. I turned around
and caught up to the vehicle near Double Springs Road and confirmed it was the same vehicle.
The vehicle continued northbound towards a residence. The vehicle then began to accelerate and make a left hand turn
through the grass yard. I attempted to strike the left rear quarter panel of the car but did not have enough speed or a good
angle to cause the vehicle to stop. Trp Hopper came across the yard and attempted to strike the vehicle as well. The vehicle
drove through a wooden fence on White Rock and continued back south towards Wedington Drive.
The vehicle turned westbound onto Wedington and accelerated to a high rate of speed. Trp Hopper was in front of me at this
time, but he was unable to accelerate due to vehicle issues, I passed him and became the primary pursuit unit again. I
continued following the vehicle and watched it turn left onto S Buddy Elkins.
The vehicle used Buddy Elkins to turn around and
go back to Wedington and turn back east. The vehicle attempted to pass a Chevrolet truck by driving on the shoulder. The
vehicle struck the Chevy truck on the passenger side while trying to pass it. At this time, Trp Hopper who had discontinued
following the vehicle on Buddy Elkins, was in a position to end the pursuit and performed a TVI. The vehicle rolled over once
and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Commands were given for the occupants to exit. The first to exit from the front passenger window was Michael Lewis .
The second to exit was Krystal Starr. Both were taken into custody without further incident. A
third occupant was in the back seat. He had difficulty exiting the vehicle, but I was able to help him out of the back seat
passenger window. He was also taken into custody. He said his name was Tristen Taylor.
No return was located for this information. A Fayetteville Police Officer arrived and when I mentioned this name, he said he
thought his real name would be Tristen McNamee with the same date of birth. This information was checked and confirmed to
be the third occupant. All three subjects had multiple felony warrants which were all confirmed.
The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of the Springdale Police Department.
All three occupants were read their Miranda Warning. Michael and Krystal would not confirm who was driving. Tristen said that
Krystal was the driver. This statement is consistent with how they exited the vehicle, Michael first from the passenger side, and
then Krystal. Additionally, the driver’s seat was moved close to the steering wheel, indicating the driver may have been shorter.
Inside the vehicle, multiple pieces of mail with varying names and addresses from the rural areas of Washington County were
located.
Tristen was issued a citation (200A1452757) for Obstructing Governmental Operations for lying about his name, as well as No
Seatbelt.
Krystal is being charged with Felony Fleeing for fleeing while exceeding the speed limit, Aggravated Assault for engaging in
conduct that created a substantial risk or physical injury or death by striking the innocent motorist while trying to flee.
Additionally, she is being charged with Felony Theft by Receiving for having an unexplained possession of the stolen Yukon.
Additionally, she is being charged with Unauthorized use of Another’s Property for using the stolen Yukon to facilitate another
violation without the owner’s knowledge. She is also being charged with Criminal Mischief for the damage caused to the yard
as well as the fence. Additionally, she is being charged with Reckless Driving, Defective Tail Lamps and No Seatbelt as the
seatbelt was locked in place and showed she was sitting on top of it. She will have a court date set in Washington County
Circuit Court.

Wouldn’t any rulings coming from federal authorities in Washington affect all 50 states? So any state’s police agencies, including Arkansas, would be working under the same federal guidelines or rules. So wouldn’t the differences you are referring to be at the state level? I know it’s easy to blame “Washington” for anything you don’t like. But do us a favor and think before you post conclusions like this that don’t pass the sniff test.

Well, generally people are more educated in Wa state....AR-47th in law enforcement, 49th in education , # 1 in innocent people killed from pit maneuvers....depends on priorities from the population of each jurisdiction.....AR would rather kill innocent citizens for petty crimes than let their brothers in law miss the body work and alignment for their vehicles....its the poor hillbilly brain versus the college educated brain

@@jeronimo20242 A curious take on it... If people do the things that they are free to do, then surely those things aren't illegal. I think there are several issues, freedom isn't one of them. Social and moral attitude are major factors. A society that can't tell the difference between socialism and communism is not in a good place to implement national measures to tackle the root cause of rampant criminality. A capitalist society breeds inequality, the mantra that *anyone* can win completely fails to address the fact that in a zero sum game, not *everyone* can win. Yet anything other than rampant capitalism is labeled "commie". Thanks CIA from 60s, 70s, 80s for hammering home this bogey man attitude towards *anything* remotely socially moral. If there's one thing that sums up American attitude, it's "I'm all right Jack, fk you". When stranded in a go get it culture with naff all opportunity, crime is a very attractive ethos.

The pickup was pulled off to the side prior to the pit because of the lights and sirens in both directions. They performed the maneuver directly behind him. He had nowhere to go. He got out to see if there was damage to his vehicle. Probably not the best timing of that. But in his defense, 10 armed po’s surrounded his vehicle without any thought to there being a civilian in that pickup. Nobody even checked on him.
