I like how he held back and weaved around to get following vehicles to back off so he could PIT her. Lots of folks posting the cracked windshield was from earlier in the day. He has had a cracked windshield in several of these ASP videos for a while now and it has definitely gotten bigger. I'd get a ticket for that in my state. Hope they take care of it soon. regardless, he still got the job done.👍

⚠️ I watched a video in the past week or so where I learned that cracked windshields aren't about impaired vision as much as they are about structural integrity. Windshields are important in keeping the roof in place, especially during rollovers. Maybe that fact is well known, but I didn't know it! 🤔

It's also not required in every state. For example in Texas it is simply stated that a driver must have a clear unobstructed view while driving, so a crack high, low, or off to the side is usually not counted Interestingly Texas does require you to have windshield wipers but you're not required to actually have a windshield :P

Yeah, the crack in the windshield would get you a ticket here in Georgia also, if they spot it. I imagine it depends on what kind of day the officer is having, maybe a warning.

2:00 I've never seen that before....he purposely allowed a large gap, then did a quick sweep back and forth to break traffic behind him, then sped up to the PIT target. It makes SO MUCH sense, but out of all the dash cam videos I've watched, not one has done that. Typically they wait for an open gap to naturally happen, then move in to PIT position. Maybe I just haven't seen the numerous times that Troopers have performed this maneuver, but it's new to me...and I love it. Well done, Trooper!💙

When there's multiple cars involved in the pursuit usually one of them will do this behind the PIT car to clear traffic. He was alone, but in light enough traffic he could do it himself. It appears like the semi's were helping by blocking her from passing, they'll do that sometimes to help the cops, he may have recognized that and knew he could drop back to clear traffic and catch back up.

About eight years ago I bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport. The bottom lower left of the windshield had the smallest crack. I immediately called Safeguard. Even though it was so insignificant, I still wanted it fixed. All the years passed and the windshield is still absolutely perfect. You just don't take chances with a windshield crack no matter how small it is. I think because it was so small, I was only charged about twenty five dollars to get it fixed.

Watched another boadcast yesterday were a Little Rock police officer were involved in a car hijack/accident. requested a statetrooper who arrived. When he got out of his car, one of the police officers made a coment about how his uniform fit. Another police officer said when they become state troopers and receive their uniforms, they have to get dressed in it and then the uniform are shrunk according to their body tipe. I wonderded about that one because the state trooper in question were well build ( yes I know I am old but still have good eyesight) but I see now does not matter what their body type is, it still gets shrunk to fit their bodies😉😊 Be safe

@@norahc. When I was a kid, my father passed an ambulance with its lights on one afternoon. He was questioned about that afterwards, but his explanation satisfied them. There had been an accident about a mile from the house. Only one ambulance was available and it could not carry two people. So the ambulance loaded the local guy in and took off. That patient was not injured badly and was released pretty quickly. So my father loaded the other victim in the pickup and headed to the hospital (about 20 miles away), passing the ambulance on the way. Unfortunately, that patient died from massive internal injuries. The explanation? That so many people don't pay enough attention to see if anyone is following an ambulance, the last thing he wanted to do was stay behind him when they got to town.

Notice how he preemptively did the multi lane zig zag to slow traffic so he could PIT without other vehicles nearby.... well done..... Best part... Insurance will not pay for repairs because refusing to stop for law enforcement is a felony... No insurance in the commission of a felony.

What a strange stop! If it's serious enough to PIT, it's serious enough for a felony stop with gun drawn. This officer casually walked up to the truck cab with gun holstered, then proceeded to allow the suspect to put her hands in her pockets at will before even patting her down for weapons. This is the kind of lackadaisical attitude that gets cops killed. Oops!

I don't understand all of the communication the trooper has to handle and stop doing his job while he does it. I'm not a dispatcher or anything but if it gets in the way of the officer doing his job there's something wrong. Would seem to me that shoulder mics would help it happen easier and less awkward/distracting for the officer. I'll have to watch it again but didn't he give his location and the particulars before he jumped out of his car to go get the keys and driver out of the truck? Also why doesn't he put her in cuffs right away for his own safety? Armchair quarterbacking here, I get it. Kudos to you out doing a hard job.
