Nice vids my man 👌🏼very informative and can really help people improve!! (Just an observation from a fellow ski nerd, from watching a good number of your videos, I think you come off your left turns a tad early, really let it flow like your right turns!)

For those of us who dont do an entire season on the mountain, can you do a video on for drills for your first day back after 12 months?
@grndpnder73 жыл бұрын
I was a decently advanced skier when I hung them up 20 years ago. After finding your videos last year I went and rented some equipment and decided to give it another go while bringing my young son along. After a slight (re)learning curve I fell in love with it all over again, although it was a little different as this was my first time ever on a set of shaped skis. I bought a used pair of skis and watched all I could from you and others on how to carve. By no means was I what I would consider good by the time everything got shut down but I'm excited to hit the slopes in 2 weeks to continue my practice. Thank you for the videos and for renewing my love of the slopes and giving my and my boy something to bond and look forward to.

The timing of your videos is fantastic for those of us in the southern hemisphere. I literally use them to help visualise skiing during the off season, as well as for some mountain porn, all of which gets me pumped for the upcoming winter down here in AU. Keep them coming!

Really nice tutorial! I'd add one drill with a lot of variants: ski horribly wrong on an easy slope trying to do short turns; weight all the way forward, weight all the way back, standing all the way up and sitting down with butt touching back bindings. Same forwards, backwards, with one ski for pro's backwards and forwards. Get a feeling how all these change the way skis turn. Then try to find the most comfortable position to stand on the ski and do the same short turns. Once found, it's just gold! ps. I tought a 6 year old to ski today, the smiles were priceless after the kid did full runs on kiddie slope from the top pps. Jens, upper body 2 degrees up and butt 2 degrees down, will get your legs burning but gets you through bumps so much easier ;)

Thanks Jens. I think the compression turns are going to help my forest skiing. I would love it if you featured some women free skiers, like Kelly Sildaru, Sarah Hoefflin, Mathilde Gremaud, Giulia Tanno, Caroline Claire, Margaux Hackett, Elizabeth Gerritzen. I can't find anything much on KZbin for lady shredders. It'd really help if they would do a review of skis on your channel. I'm planning to buy my first freeride skis. I'm looking for something like the Bent Chetlers, but for someone much lighter and shorter than the person they are made for. Many thanks!

Hi, I was wondering how do you do to have such a good video result skiing facing the camera? Does your cameraman ski backward? Thanks for your videos, I'll probably land my first 360 thanks to you this year (after watching my attempts, I saw I block my rotation with my arm) Go on and enjoy the season!

Damn! Where are you at that has all that POW?!! Are you still skiing the Bent Chetler 100's? Also, an expert (Retired Army Spec Ops) skier was telling me to go with narrower skis in the 72-85cm range to actually control the skis. He said wider skis in the 100cm range are controlling the skier more than the skier controlling the skis. Your opinion? Also as far as float goes he says why would you want to float in powder? Better to sink down into pow on narrower skis and enjoy it! Says if you're floating you might as well ski on grooms! Again your thoughts? Cool thanks man!
@StompItTutorials3 жыл бұрын
Hey hey, Yes I ski them for park and all mountain skiing. Narrow skis feel kind of good to ski in the powder for short turns. But for larger swooping modern big mountain turns I like to float on top with a minimum of 107mm under foot but most of the time 120. 120 is a bit overkill but I like it anyway. Jens

Hey William, I started with Freestyle from day one on skis. Thus my technique is still not that great but thanks to first trying to learn toturn a ski properly in my 20s I still remember the struggle. Plus I am still trying to do slightly better turns every year :)

@@StompItTutorials I started as a racer and this Christmas hopefully will finally get my first pair of twin tip skis. LAAX looks so fun and I wish I could go there. Thanks

Can't get past the first drill. You are using your hips with the pivot slip. Poor alignment. You are not in a proper 'comma' position, but mis aligned due to your hip rotation vs. pivoting. Weak demo.

This is honestly hilarious.this guy is not very good at doing the drills he is trying to show.
