His loss still makes me sad. I love Asia and will see them play whenever they tour, but John’s passing cost rock a great bassist, a wonderful lyricist, and one of the best vocalists in the past fifty years.

I had the honor to see them 1983 and they played this song let alone both albums the best show ever in Long Beach California I will never forget it I went in for a neck surgery 08/09/2023 and they asked me what music I wanted to hear going in I said ASIA

Great performance. My favorite of all Asia lineups is still this one - the original. When I saw them that same year, in 2012, they performed "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" with just Geoff and John. I like this version better when maestros Steve and Carl come in at the end!

ASIA has a rich musicianship in every incarnation... but yeah, i love the classic lineup (and the original) This track was intended in this way, but John kalodner had a different vision, so Geffen decided to release just the ballad... I always wonder about an overture with the ballad AND a close track with this version as a conceptual alpha album... Kind regards from México
