As p2 I should have taken desert tactics R1A1. I don't like being that player - especially when playing against unknown opponents who might overreact to worms, or fight overly hard for the R1 combat - but even so it was the best move for my hand. It means I get to trash a dagger and get hooks round 2. I made some troop deployment mistakes because I was too tired to track anyone's buys, but that was the main strategic thing that I think was an error.

To be honest your whole first round was very suspicious, not going desert tactics and putting spy on hc spot. In my opinion 2nd spot is the worst for going worms but you still have to do it because there is a chance that round 4 you will be the only player with hooks and not getting blocked at HB and reap the rewards. But mind that some stars need to align for that to happen. Spy from ring should have gone to fremen or bg if you really want to avoid worms.

@@HereticD-lv7qr why do you think the spy should have gone to one of those spots? What does that have to do with not going for hooks?

@@scmccarthy well you either go desert tactics and put spy on fremen so you can double draw for big buy next turn or you put on espionage since that is the best spy spot in the game bar none. You go hc only if you expect someone will go for early sm but that was unlikely since there is no staban in the game.

@@HereticD-lv7qr thanks! I definitely like to play differently. I wouldn't want to spend the r1 spy in this game for a r2 draw. Drawing one of dagger/dune/ring (assuming trashing dagger r1) doesn't seem worth it. I would rather keep a spy around to threaten +2 swords.

Muad'Dib’s passive is a joke. It would be like Irulan getting an intrigue every step of the emperor track or most of Feyd’s track being an intrigue (not literally but you get my point). I’d gladly see him banned from the next tournament
