Those big holes in your work platform look a bit iffy 🤕 On occasion I’ve used a decking spike to do what you did with the felt pen / bolt. A decking spike is like an 8 inch long nail that’s about 8mm diameter. A tap on it with the hammer and it will leave a centre hole impression. Or I just dip the bolt head in a little bit of paint.

Some good ideas mate 👍yere definitely a few gaps think they went to fit two boards down at front but haven't measured it right. Two boards fit round back 👍👍👍
