Stone House Portugal | It´s raining INSIDE and out!

It´s not always sunny in Portugal. When we moved to our old stone house here in central Portugal, we experienced a lot of heavy rain. There was so much rain, in fact, that it wasn´t just falling on the farm land, but it was also coming in through the roof and causing damage to the ceiling and running down the stone walls. The roof will be a major renovation job, but not right now.
As spring approaches we take a look at some of the young trees on our land and we got a surprise when we are given lots of bushes. There was no time for preparing the soil, because the plants were already out of the ground, so we got planting quickly. With the gardening tasks finished, we turned our attention to some interior jobs, as it isn´t spring yet. Some heating adjustments were needed with our infrared panel heaters.

The one thing I have noticed above all else in the Portugal channels I watch is how friendly, helpful and kind the Portuguese people are 😊 Some lovely Hedge starts you have been given look forward to seeing them grow. I know nothing of plants or trees so no help there. I imagine that as the warmer weather hits you will be able to do something about your roof 😊 Heating panels seem excellent at least you have something to keep you going until you are able to install something better for you (as budget allows). Hi there friend. Thank you very much! Ours are here for the time-being. They do look better when attached directly to a wall or ceiling, rather than suspended, but our room is nearly 3 m tall, so we get more benefit from the heat when suspended. I think they are more popular in the UK.

Citrus trees do not like soil that doesn’t drain well. Put them in pot and feed them and they will be happier.

Why are there so many people moving to Portugal these days? What I can see so far, either it is hot and dry, or cold and weet. And why buuing a dumb for an awful lot of money? Investing a lot of time and effort to make it some kind of liveable, with little comfort?

Because many people want to change their life, have a project, work hard rather than sit and vegetate.... Also weather hot or cold can't dictate always what you want to o do. Also, Portugal is a beautiful part of the world. Don't blame anyone for doing this.....
