iI love seeing the stream run clear across the land in channels. I noticed a stone across where the pipe comes out. Maybe there's another water mine somewhere along there.

Thank you Beth in Texas. There is a large tank from a water mine further up towards the small road that is also fed by a water mine. So you are right 😃

Very old stone Wall and lime-mortar is a super work, that is a good cocktail for this so old house better than cement mortar. To make the joins between the stones, I allow myself to advise you the use of pouch for lime-mortar, as for the kitchen, and if there is not a lote.!! It exist some mortar pump with hose and pistol to deeply inject the mortar between the stones, this made of very clean and easy to clean joints. This square and conical metal roof could have been a place for the coal fire of a blacksmith, is there would be an anvil by chance ?? Running water on your property is a fortune.!!!!!! Bon courage and stay safe.👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Jean-Marie. Great to have you with us. Thank you so much for the useful information . Very good idea about the tool to inject the lime mortar. We'll have to look out for one. Maybe there was a blacksmith, we're not sure but someone definitely used it as a workshop.

I just wonder where all those big giant stones come from that you see all over Portugal especially in the old homesteads. Are they all stone or are they a conglomermation and formed? It is hard to tell. But they really are beautiful looking.
@TeaAndTinto10 ай бұрын
Hi Barbara. Thanks for watching.The granite stones are found in many places in Portugal especially in central and northern Portugal. It's quite a mountainous country and there are lots of quarries. However building with natural stone is much less common now as it's very labour intensive. Some local houses are centuries old.
@paulocosta23789 ай бұрын
In the past building stone houses was the cheapest way, because the materials (granite) is very common. Nowadays build houses in granite our other kind stone is very expensive. Because the cost of extraction and the lack of people with experience on that kind construction.

@@TeaAndTinto Yes I see that. Your place has the most big stones like that that I've seen of all the channels that I watch I see how mountainous it is around there and parts around Portugal but it is an amazing country. One channel I watch had a whole room of an old barn made out of those big giant same stones like along your driveway there that the guy had to cut the stone to make it wider. Just amazing place you have there and those giant stones! I'll keep watching!

@@TeaAndTinto you are right. I'm a Frenchman, by the way. I worked in construction for 30 years.. I'm a small time contractor. I do condominiums and houses. France nowadays is getting crazier. It's not safe anymore. There's drugs and violence. Streets are not safe compared to the 90s. Strange culture are introduced. My Homeland became a stranger to me. People are not the same. Three years ago, we sold our property and left for Christmas Island. My wife inherited a land. I'm a farmer now.
