The historical value of these club videos is tremendous. Linda Ronstadt, a great American.

Yeah, there is so little really good video on her. I was always amazed there weren't more DVDs out on her. Would have loved to see a recorded Trio concert

i love her turn aside to let the guitarist play his moment, with respect to the other musicians. She never stopped being classy and respectful to those around her that helped shape her career (and she certainly shaped theirs). She is a legend.

Long ago stopped wondering about what she sang, when she sang it, who she sang it with or even how she sang it. All I need is to hear the sound of Linda's voice. Her early vibe...especially sigh.

The 3 Poney Albums aren't bad and have some pretty good songs on them...I listen to them when I'm doing house work...early Ronstadt, cant beat that...prayers for Linda...amen

In person Ronstadt's voice was one of the finest instruments in popular music. Even this early gig the singing is impressive.

Young Linda - simply gorgeous pure vocals - even as she was just getting started. Adorably fine soon to rock our hearts.

Saw her with Dolly Parton and Emmy-Lou Harris in Nashville. Three beautiful voices. Linda is still my favorite.

Lucky you! I would have loved to have heard the Trio sing live. There's a little bit of them on an episode of Dolly, and a few KZbin vids, but live would have been great.

I saw her in concert at Mile High stadium in Denver Colorado. She Played with the eagles and Joe Walsh and young band called pure Prairie league who had the hit out at that time entitled Amy. It was a great concert and I will never forget it or her.

Thanks for this great video. It illustrates how hard it was to make a living as a musician as you will see her wear this same dress on several occasions, like on the Johnny Cash show.

She has a good voice. Sounds like folk ballad music from the 60s
@calderarecords6 жыл бұрын
Considering the old equipment they're using, this sounds remarkably well. The singer is very nice, & she knows how to use the Mic by drawing it closer for the sensual parts.

I could look, and listen to Linda Ronstadt in the late 60's all day long. And a mini skirt? Damn!
@gregparry56323 жыл бұрын
I must say IMO sounds like a Queen singing for a high school garage band. She is incomparable!!!
@joannebeauchamp11693 жыл бұрын
Funny...I can’t think of one popular singer you hear on the radio today, male or female, NOT EVEN ONE who can sing as well as Linda Ronstadt did back in the late 60’s!

Linda an original flower child. Big hoop earrings, braless and shoeless singing her heart out.

It's hard to tell, but she was actually wearing shoes in this gig, they're just really hard to see. They're little flat things with no heels that just barely cover her toes. 🥿🥿

Ronstadt and that voice. Early on with less than a stellar band. Still that voice and vibe get you. Linda...sigh

Linda is amazing at this gig. Only 21 years old and you just know she is a special, one of a kind singer on her way to bigger things. Now, I don't know why the band seems so off and out of tune. They are great on the 3 Stone Ponies albums. Credit to Linda for keeping pitch perfect focus through the distraction. But, The Stone Ponies were a pure 1960's folk rock hippie band. Pretty good. Nice songs, Linda Ronstadt, and very fine harmonies. All Linda fans should not dismiss this important beginning to an amazing career.

Those hoop earrings were new and in style back then. Girls wearing them today are just sad copycats.

Who is the bearded guy who looks like he's about to introduce her or something? You can also see him prominently in the "Different Drum" video clip from this club date. Was he the club owner or what. Anyone??
@Raelspark4 жыл бұрын
This is a terrific song, but the studio version is better. I just learned it. Here they ruin the song by playing it a half step up and putting a capo on the first fret. What saves the song is LINDA RONSTADT and her vocal!

Does anyone know the name of the guy standing behind Linda (playing the acoustic guitar?) (has a mustache)
@johnpierce81147 жыл бұрын
Ken Edwards (d 2010). The guitar player to her far left is Bobby Kimmel.They were the founding members of The Stone Poneys. I don't know who the bassist and drummer are.
@dreamyblue446 жыл бұрын
I think I'm also seeing Shep Cooke on guitar. Kimmel and Cooke would go on to the Floating House Band with Kit Alderson.
@sportsmediaamerica3 жыл бұрын
@@johnpierce8114 This was March 1968. Hadn't the band been through some changes by then? Were Kimmel and Edwards both still in the band by this time?

Band was awful during this set. Amazing how well Linda stood up through that noise. Even the guitars are out of tune 😂. The studio version is brilliant, from The Stone Poneys Evergreen Volume 2 album.
@dlewis1303 Жыл бұрын
Linda is spot on as always but the band is not even a decent garage band. Lead guitarist is cringeworthy.
