STP doesn’t get the full recognition that they deserve. Definitely not an underground band, but they should be regarded much higher for putting out consistently good music.

Yup. I was ranking the vocalists of the grunge bands with a friend. STP is definitely a notch above Nirvana for me. 1. Chris Cornell 2. Layne Staley 3. Scott Weiland 4. Eddie Vedder 5. Kurt Cobain
@jacobgriffin35792 жыл бұрын
@@harishsubramanian1241 Dude, you absolutely nailed my own vocalist ranking list lol. I wasn’t sure if it was controversial or not, but Weiland is above Vedder and WAY above Cobain
@BradCross19822 жыл бұрын
For me it’s 1- Layne 2- Chris 3-Scott 4- Ben McMillian 5- Mark Arm 6- Mark Lanegan 7- Vedder 8- Kurt

This is one of those songs I wish they would have played on rock stations. It’s an awesome simple song and I love it. I have to agree with your score on this one. It doesn’t blow me away but it is a great song! Very nice review! Dave do a reaction to Let Me Drown by Soundgarden!!🤟🤟🤟

STP was amazing with Scott. They literally where the Alt and grunge movements version of 70s rock in a way. They were semi progressive at times but blended it with great radio catch hooks and reminds me of Aerosmith. Guitar heavy driven rock! Pure solid drive and great vocals and guitar work. Their songs like this one where always great tunes for driving music. I love a billion bands and genres but STP was one of my jams in the 90s. Great band to dive into

STP, The bridge between the Grunge kids and the Janes Addiction alt kids, The goths just listened to everything. School in the 90s was good times

Always interesting to see the way this band evolved, definitely worth checking out some of their later more alternative stuff.

I mean if you think about it, some of the best songs that we can dig back into the '90s demonstrated that less can be more. Look at Dimebag Darrell with Walk by Pantera. Sometimes timing in itself can be a technique that's well played. Because sometimes as art, I feel like it's important to let the song breathe a little bit.

Haven't heard this song in quite awhile but glad you did this for us. Nothing wrong with that score, this was a great song. I've always enjoyed it and thought it was one of their better songs so a great score was warranted. Could tell you were enjoying it by the time they got to the chorus. Well done David.

Nice one, DH! I think you'd really like the live version of this one on 'Alive in the Windy City'. It's the second song in the set and works really well from the point of view of the setlist, 'song-1, song-2' dynamics you've mentioned in prior reactions. Thanks!

STP was better than any of those other grunge bands at the time for me. Their first 2 records, Core and Purple, I would put above anything that Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden ever released. Even though I love all those bands as well.

How have you not ever heard this? You seem like close to my age 55ish so you were ~25 when this was fresh. You’re obviously into music so it’s got me scratching my head a little. Regardless nice review 😅. 🏁

AAAAAAHHHHIIIIEEE! CRACKERMAN! this song is a sweet Sunday Jam with my cup of coffee. Who doesn’t want to listen to to a song about killing a drug dealer. 😆 This album is 🔥 Scott Weiland, may he rest doesn’t get the recognition he deserves with a lot of his songs.
