This gives me a lot of hope! I'm waiting for a knee surgery as a 30 year old. Very similar story to his. Aiming for a partial knee replacement. Let's see how we go!

Here's a blog written by the operating surgeon Dr. Kevin Stone on when is the right time for surgery. Definitely worth a read in your situation www.stoneclinic.com/blog/when-to-have-knee-surgery

I appreciate your clinic so much. I'm an ultrarunner and you are the only source I could find that gave hope for post PKR running. I'm across country so I had to use a different surgeon, but since my PKR 2 years ago, I've finished 35 100 mile ultramarathons, including some of the top difficult races in the country like Cruel Jewel and Grindstone, qualifying for UTMB. My knee is still going strong. Thank you for breaking away from conventional wisdom that running life has to end with this surgery.

Rosie!! Can you tell me the surgeon you found on this side of the US? I'm in Virginia and have been reading about Dr. Stone for months! I am also a runner and told to stop. Dr. Stone is the only one who gives me hope, but have been so sad about the possibility that I am too far away for him to treat me. Any information you can share is GREATLY appreciated!

@@tinarepa2089 so sorry I only just noticed this comment, Dr Larsen at the bone and joint clinic in Winchester VA. I just finished my #85th hundred miler and got into UTMB. ☺️
