@TimeofQwerty I know that when I was a teenager, she was the reason I watched these two movies. It's a shame that she hasn't done more serious stuff because she definitely was good with acting (I checked to see what she's done lately, so I don't know if she's still acting). Her performance in The Audrey Hepburn Story was proof of that, and I thought she recreated Hepburn's image beautifully.

1:14 To those who don't know it already, the biggest reason why Lois Duncan was so furious at the movie turning her story into a slasher is because in 1989 her teenage daughter was actually killed by a maniac, a crime the author sadly never lived to see being solved (the killer was only revealed some 5 years after her death) and affected her so much that she stopped writing YA thrillers, the very genre that made her famous, because she couldn't write any longer about young girls in danger. Needless to say, still adapting one of her books as a slasher despite that was a quite tasteless choice from the filmmakers.

As far as I'm concerned, Sarah Michelle Gellar was the unsung MVP of this movie. It honestly always seemed crazy to me that she wasn't the star, and they went with Hewitt. I mean, my god, Helen has the most character development, the most interesting back story, the most emotional range, BY FAR the best suspense sequence, where Hookman chases her to the outlet store, with that pounding music and great silhouette. It’s a very ridiculous plot hole that the Hook Man during the day is able to remove the crabs, and the corpse without being seen in the suburbs during a short amount of time before Julie and the other protagonists walk outside the house. Julie and the other characters would be able to hear a car that is on while inside the house, also it’s highly unlikely that Julie never sees the Hook Man following her while driving a car.
